Kelly and Chris had an English Garden-inspired wedding in East Hampton, perfectly blending elegance and whimsy. Every detail of their special day, from the wedding location to Kelly's custom-made Anne Barge gown, was designed to hold profound meaning. The process of designing the dress began exactly one year before the wedding in the back garden of Kelly's family home. Our design team captured that season's blooms, hand drew all the flowers and our skilled artisans hand-embroidered them to reflect those of Kelly's family's English garden. As a nod to sentiments, we artfully incorporated elements from Kelly's cherished veil, once belonging to a dear friend, to her gown. This ensured that every detail of her dress was representative of something important to Kelly, truly defining the meaning of custom. I remember seeing La Femme by @annebarge for the first time at @kinsleycouturebridal and immediately knowing it was my dress. I had previously decided I didn’t want any lace, and I DEFINITELY didn’t want a ballgown, but I just felt so drawn to it. I lost my little sister, Claire, to cancer in 2015, and going through the planning process without her was unbearable. A Coastal Camp Inspired Wedding Weekend on South Carolina’s Kiawah Island. Ruthie’s priority when choosing her wedding gown was to find a timeless, comfortable dress that “looked like her usual self” - per the request of her groom, Paul. In order to stay true to her natural style while honoring family tradition, Ruthie made her dress appointment at Anne Barge Atelier in Atlanta, the same designer who created Paul’s mother’s wedding gown. Ruthie fell in love with the soft but classic look of the Naomi by Anne Barge. Ruthie customized the gown to create a chic, square neckline with a V-shaped plunge on the back. Ruthie then focused on finding bridal elements from both her family and Paul’s family to add a traditional touch to the gown. Ruthie collected a piece of fabric from her mother’s wedding dress, lace from Paul’s mother’s wedding veil, seed pearls from her grandmother’s wedding tiara, and finally a ribbon from her great-grandmother and namesake’s wedding skirt to create a heart on the inside of her wedding dress by her left ankle. “The addition of the traditional heart inside my dress was the perfect way for me to privately acknowledge the love we have for our families, without minimizing the integrity of my own wedding gown style.
