La Autoridad Portuaria de la Bahía de Cádiz (APBC) confirmaba este jueves a este periódico que en los diez años que van desde que se licitara la obra del túnel de acceso a la nueva terminal de contenedores, en noviembre de 2010, hasta hoy, el precio de la construcción de este acceso subterráneo ha aumentado un 87,09%. Es decir que si hace 14 años la construcción del túnel le iba a costar a la APBC 21,7 millones de euros, ahora que se acaba de licitar la finalización de los trabajos de este acceso bajo tierra el precio de la obra asciende a 40,62 millones de euros. Es cierto que la construcción de esta estructura ha estado rodeada de un halo de mal fario desde el momento en el que durante los trabajos, los técnicos se toparon con un chapón que impedía proseguir con la obra. I was so pleased to receive this in the post last week after more than 3 years of study. Level 6 is degree level, and I was proud to gain a Merit at 83.1%. (Distinction is over 85% so just missed it but delighted anyway). It has been tough at times but hugely rewarding and I learned so much about modern science led dog behaviour and how to effectively work with this. It has definitely improved my ability to help my dogs and clients. The value of the course to me was summed up very well by Compass: “If nothing else, you should now understand when people say that nobody is aware of how much they do not know until they have studied the subject.” I would encourage anyone working with dogs to take this course, especially as The Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons and the RSPCA now only recommend fully qualified (Level 6) Behaviourists and regulation of this industry is on it’s way. I am 60 next year and this is my first degree which shows that age is not a barrier. I look forward to my first summer in 3 years without my head buried in scientific study papers, which is great timing as my son is getting married in May and we have a Sikh Wedding to look forward to! My next step is to apply to become a Provisional Clinical Animal Behaviourist with the APBC so watch this space. I will be gradually updating my webpage and social media. ▶️ Behaviour Support Case - Bodi 🐾 Bodi and his care givers recently got in touch for support as Bodi had been displaying guarding behaviours within the house Since the behaviour consultation, there has been 0 incidences of guarding 🙌🏻 We have also been working through a plan of building Bodi's confidence whilst travelling in the car. Earlier in today's session we got to the stage of Bodi voluntarily going into the car, plus we did a very short and steady drive in the car park - he aced it! I have just had a brilliant weekend at the @apbc_official conference, meeting some amazing people and learning a great deal! Finding a properly qualified behaviourist to help your pet is challenging, it is an entirely unregulated field and the wrong person can do far more harm than good. The @apbc_official hold their members to extremely stringent standards, I always look to refer my patients to a behaviourist registered with them and I am extremely proud to be their patron For any other animal training help, look to the @abtcouncil to find a well trained and highly qualified person. What a fantastic day at the Australian Pipe Band Championships! We are so proud of all of our players from both of our competition bands who achieved outstanding results. Our Grade 4B band performed brilliantly to come second against some extremely tough competition and were the top scoring band in the Selection of Marches. Once again, our Grade 3 band were triumphant and were crowned Australian champions! We also took home the prize for best drum corps. This makes the band Victorian, New Zealand and Australian Champions and makes them undefeated all season! It is also the first time in the band’s history that we have taken back to back national titles! A massive congratulations to all of our players who competed over the weekend as well as earlier in the season and especially to all of our leaders who made this success possible. A massive thank you to all of our supporters, especially our drone tuners! Thank you also to Pipe Bands Victoria on an amazing competition. A big shout out also goes to all of the competing bands; it was wonderful to see you all out on the contest field!
