PIAZZA AMENDOLA - Il progetto persegue tre obiettivi fondamentali: il restauro della fontana centrale, il ripristino di una scalinata a due rampe con relativa vasca e fontana sul lato ovest della piazza secondo il disegno originale e la riqualificazione con mirato intervento alla pavimentazione. Il rinnovo totale della pavimentazione è previsto in gran parte con lastre di pietra lavica di varie dimensioni e scandita da elementi lineari in lastre di marmo (Trani). Il disegno di tutta la pavimentazione nasce dal ricollocare la fontana monumentale su di un basamento di forma ottagonale secondo i #disegni originali dell’Architetto Jommi, da questo, l’invenzione di caratterizzare la piazza con delle bordure di marmo che si dipartono da ogni vertice dell’ottagono fino a formare una raggiera all’interno di un’ellisse. Da due lati dell’ottagono i raggi vengono proiettati al di fuori di essa rimarcando le diagonali maggiori della piazza, questo gioco formale delle parti mette a risalto ancora di più la fontana monumentale dello Jommi. Particolare attenzione è stata dedicata nella progettazione degli elementi di contenimento delle aiuole, realizzati in cemento armato e rivestiti con listelli di pietra lavica, bordati con marmo bianco di Trani; la caratteristica forma e “texture” ricordano la corteccia del fusto delle palme simbolo di tutta la piazza. #architectscarmelobagala #palmi #piazzaamendolapalmi #pietralavica🌋 #palmeto #brioschi71
Art Café è un luogo di ristoro davanti alla scuola Tedesca nel cuore del quartiere Brera a Milano. Un bar e un piccolo ristorante realizzati al piano terra in un cortile di un palazzo della vecchia Milano a ridosso del parco Sempione e vicino al Piccolo teatro di Strehler. Oggi questo cortile è stato concepito come un giardino d’inverno, dove la luce è il tema predominante del progetto, coperto da una grande vetrata, si affaccia sulla strada attraverso l’imponente sagoma di un cancello in ferro battuto. Al suo interno trova posto un lungo banco per il bar, realizzato in lamiera di ferro naturale, piegata e trattata con un flatting trasparente. Cosi come anche la parete retrostante con le mensole sotto illuminate per la bottiglieria. Sulle altre tre pareti chiuse di questo vecchio cortile è stato realizzato un affresco dall’artista Melody Cook: una serie di uccelli passeggeri posano su degli alberi stilizzati in versione autunnale. Villa La Pietrosa - Leonida Repaci Palmi Il progetto presentato ( realizzato 2009 ) si propone il recupero delle strutture attualmente in stato di abbandono e degrado per farle diventare una volta ultimati i lavori , un luogo di attrazione , centro di attività di interesse culturale e di creazione di nuove attività economiche. Il progetto individua quattro linee guida. - La memoria / Archivio della Memoria collettiva La necessita di un luogo della memoria del territorio e delle attività che si sono sviluppate nel corso dei secoli seguendo un itinerario che si ispiri anche alle più recenti acquisizioni della antropologia culturale. - Presente e Futuro / Il luogo della creatività giovanile Il piano terra della villa è stato destinato a diventare un “ incubatore “ e un luogo di confronto sia per la creatività giovanile che per le attività di nuova imprenditoria che possano nascere. - Presente e Futuro / Il luogo espositivo Il padiglione sarà una struttura realizzata ex novo , costituita da elementi in acciaio , vetro e legno si presenta come uno spazio trasparente spalancato sul parco circostante. Sarà sede di eventi è luogo di presentazione di progetti sorti “nell’incubatore “ o comunque nel territorio di Palmi e dintorni . -Presente e Futuro / Il parco la natura come continuità. Il parco dovrà avviarsi a diventare un giardino nel quale siano raccolte le specie autoctone caratteristiche della fascia mediterranea. #labalzadiscilla #architectscarmelobagala #scilla #scillaecariddi #locanda lL’intervento di ristrutturazione si è basato su un lavoro minimalista di organizzazione e decorazione degli interni: l’atmosfera che si è voluto evocare è quella di una villeggiatura rilassante, contemplativa, lasciando che a parlare siano gli spazi semplici e confortevoli, riempiti dalla luce e dalla presenza del mare. La palette di colori scelti per le pareti e i tessuti d’arredo è soffice: tortora, azzurro polvere, salvia, bianco latte, grigio; la decorazione nelle stanze da letto, ciascuna con un carattere ben riconoscibile è quasi assente, spartani anche gli elementi d’arredo, prevalentemente prodotti da Liu Jo Lving. A legare gli ambienti un pavimento di pietra “velvet”, come un lungo tappeto fatto di un materiale organico, naturale. Le pareti dei due soggiorni degli appartamenti all’ultimo piano, hanno una carta da parati che evoca il mare, nell’appartamento più piccolo, e una immagine d’epoca in bianco e nero di Scilla in quello più grande: un omaggio alla bellezza e alla storia millenaria del borgo di Scilla, un luogo che pone La Balza di Scilla in una location difficilmente eguagliabile.

The showroom is in Catania, housed in a former carpenter's shop in the Le Ciminiere district, the large 19th-century sulfur refining complex, the only example in southern Italy of a real area of industrial archeology buildings. The project emphasizes the monumental character of the old structure in exposed brick and lava stone, combines the roughness of the work space with the elegance of furnishings and accessories already used in other contexts and recovered with elegant taste and desire for recycling. The space is between the street and a multifunctional courtyard/greenhouse for meetings and dinner parties: three bays with 6-metre high cross vaults form the backbone of the exhibition space. The first 2 welcome, sofa, oval tables refurbished with lava stone slabs (the distinctive material of the city of Etna), in the last one a more internal space reserved for business meetings and an area with kitchen and services. One of the most interesting challenges of the project was to infuse the warmth of a lived-in space into an important and spartan structure that had the charm of a decayed and abandoned cathedral. The chipped walls and the details of the previous uses were treated in a conservative way, while resin cement was chosen for the floor, a neutral material with an industrial flavour. On these bases a flow of enveloping and recurring shapes (round/oval) has been grafted which welcome the guest, guiding him and defining the rooms/bays. The color palette varies from gray to dove gray to red. Large mirrors and oversized chandeliers give a theatrical touch: in a space intended for the contemporary fashion business, we liked to mention the opulent elegance of the ateliers, cradles of last century high fashion.

Lo show room è a Catania, ricavato in una ex falegnameria nel quartiere de Le Ciminiere, l’ottocentesco grande complesso di raffinazione dello zolfo, unico esempio nel Meridione d’Italia di una vera e propria area di edifici di archeologia industriale. Il progetto enfatizza il carattere monumentale della vecchia struttura in mattoni a vista e pietra lavica, combina la ruvidezza dello spazio di lavoro con l’eleganza di arredi e accessori già usati in altri contesti e recuperati con gusto elegante e voglia di riciclo. Lo spazio è compreso tra la strada e un cortile/serra multifunzionale per meeting e dinner party: tre campate con volte a crociera alte 6 metri costituiscono l’ossatura dello spazio espositivo. Le prime 2 accolgono, sofa, tavoli ovali riattati con lastre di pietra lavica (il materiale distintivo della città etnea), nell’ultima uno spazio più interno riservato per riunioni d’affari e una zona con cucina e servizi. Una delle sfide più interessanti del progetto è stato infondere il calore di uno spazio vissuto a una struttura importante e spartana che aveva il fascino di una cattedrale decaduta e abbandonata. I muri sbreccati e i dettagli degli usi precedenti sono stati trattati in modo conservativo, per il pavimento si è scelto il cemento resina, un materiale neutro e dal sapore industriale. Su queste basi si è innestato un flusso di forme avvolgenti e ricorrenti ( tondo/ovale) che accolgono l’ospite guidandolo e definendo le stanze/campate. La palette di colori varia dal grigio, al tortora, al rosso. Grandi specchi e lampadari oversize conferiscono un che di teatrale: in uno spazio destinato al fashion business contemporaneo, ci è piaciuto citare la opulenta eleganza degli atelier, culle dell’ alta moda del secolo scorso.

Private House Sardinia Italy This residence is the result of a refurbishment and enhancement of a previous, less comfortable house. The aim of the project was to re-qualify its aging and obsolete structure Its privileged position at the centre of a wide countryside estate right on the northern shore of the Island of Sardinia, determined the composition and the structure. The new building fits harmonically into the coastal landscape, due to its structure, the severe use of local stones and woods for both, in- and outside the house and thanks to the marvellous wide garden, in which the owner exposes with love and dedication his personal splendid colourful and scented composition of Sardinia’s plants, fruits, herbs and flowers.
