Aiden came in for a portrait of his beautiful cat, Misty, with some poison bottles. We were covering some scar tissue, and we decided to cover an old tattoo that was getting in the way. When scar tissue is covered you do get some immediate swelling in the area, but it subsides pretty quickly. And over the years I’ve found in some cases, the scar tissue heals a bit flatter than before. As long as your scar has been healed for at least 12 months, you can tattoo over (Some larger scars may need longer). You’re looking for your scar to have gone past the pink/purple stage and is looking more white.
