It’s pretty easy to find a parking spot at Green Acres! We had a blast this weekend with the gang trying to shake out any loose ends before our trip out west next month. And boy did we find them 😳. Between the group, we lost a head gasket, banjo bolt, locker wiring, strut Schrader valve, intake, 300m stub shaft, axle seals, and some boiled trans fluid. One of the rare non trail post 🫢 I finally got all the pieces together to complete the front end/steering project that started this spring. Lots of mistakes and lessons learned from welder settings/techniques to the classic measure twice cut once. I think this is technically the 3rd full set of steering links since spring. Which, was somewhat the plan, but there were definitely hiccups involved. All in all, super excited and happy with how it turned out. Now that I’ve got the alignment toed in, it drives perfectly fine down the road (haven’t hit highway speed yet). And with loosing the drag link, it opens the possibly to push the front end out a little more and potentially 4 link the front if it comes down to it. Awesome NYE ride in the books with a great group of people. The forecast was looking less than perfect, so I opted to leave the hard top on. We got to play on some big rocks this past weekend for the first time in a few weeks. @mdthurmo and I got the ARB removed and the spool installed. I’ll admit, it wasn’t as bad as I thought it would be on the trail. It’s looking like the Jeep is going to be down for a bit. The @arb4x4usa blew up in the 14b and I’m being told parts won’t be available until December. Meanwhile, the @currieenterprises 60 is sitting in the shop with a bent flange. I’m hoping to have that pulled and measured by next week to get the ball rolling on that replacement as well. Either option is looking slow, unfortunately.

I finally got a little more trail time in on Saturday to make sure everything is in working order for CO in a couple weeks. The throw out bearing replacement was such a nice upgrade. Nice and smooth pedal without all the racket (see almost any video on this page for the awful sound it made lol). And lastly/most importantly, the brakes are now in better shape with the master cylinder swap.
