#buzztiptuesday We've been gone but we're back! ⠀ ⠀ So you're ready to get some press coverage for your business right? Well, what's your angle? What makes your story newsworthy to journalists? Now, this is something that is easier said than done. ⠀ ⠀ An angle is designed to engage and captivate your story. We want your angle to hold the reader's attention and give the journalist an interest to cover you.⠀ ⠀ Different types of angles include:⠀ 💫Human interest angles on hard news and complex issues that affect a greater impact. News outlets are rushing to cover the same topics so this is something you want to stay on top of.⠀ 💫Thought Leadership Angles -- highlight your unique qualities, your expertise, your opinion, predictions, experience, etc to a media contact that covers your industry or topic⠀ 💫Media Relations & Relationship building angles - Be intentional when building relationships and make it clear why they should use you as a source. Also provide additional talking points or angles, just in case they may not be interested in your initial pitch. ⠀ ⠀ Think about what's coming up in the next few weeks. What do you have planned before the year is out you desire media coverage for? ⠀ ⠀ We suggest getting ahead of the curve now. It's always good to build relationships with media and journalists so you may be on top of their radar.⠀ ⠀ If this helped, let me know in the comments. ⠀ ⠀ #bthebuzzpr #mediarelations #bthebuzzagency #branding #publicrelations #pr101 #prworks #pr #news #media

{ #BuzzTipTuesday} You’re probably reading this thinking this obvious, but to some.. they think that PR is supposed to begin to happen immediately or within a few weeks. ⠀ ⠀ Advertisement is PAID media. You are paying someone or something to talk about your business, you are paying for something and hoping you see an ROI. One placement could very well be a few thousand or even up to 25,000 depending on the platform and what you're looking for when being advertised.⠀ ⠀ Public Relations is EARNED media by a trusted third party. This means your story has persuaded a journalist to feature your business and write a great story about it on the platform they write for. This could be a story fit for TV, newspaper, digital outlets, or on a website. Your story has more credibility, doesn’t look forced, and can bring more value to your business. Your audience is looking for organic, heart-felt stories that they can relate to every day!⠀ ⠀ Oh, the kicker is, once online advertisements end they may very well disappear. You can always hold onto an online feature story of your business. ⠀ ⠀ Ask yourself, are you willing to have a 25,000 and up budget for one placement, or would you rather put your budget towards something that is more cost-effective and produces a tangible credible result? ⠀ ⠀ #bthebuzzpr #pr #publicrelation #prfirm #pr101 #atlpublicist #buzztip

{ #BuzzTipTuesday} So have you ever wondered what's the difference between a manager vs a publicist? What is the role of a manager of a small business or an entrepreneur? What tasks are the responsibility of a publicist? Let’s dive into the similarities and differences between these titles and discuss why you need both!⠀ ⠀ Here's more insight.... ⠀ Publicist: A media liaison and your spokesperson for your brand and business. A publicist's task can include writing press releases, media pitches, maintaining and coordinating events, and providing effective strategies to increase your brand awareness. Social media and crisis management may also be part of a publicist’s role. They must use organization, strong writing ability, and adherence to deadlines to create a coordinated and positive public presence for their clients. (*aka something we're good at 😁)⠀ ⠀ Manager: The first thing that comes to mind is " Operations". Your manager is your advocate and advisor for the entirety of the brand or business ventures, including financial, legal, and communication matters. Managers oversee other staff members and always keep the big picture in mind. They must use delegation, project management, and communication skills to advance their client’s careers. They should detect when it's time to bring certain positions on the team and oftentimes, it's time to roll in the press. ( *aka it's time to bring on a PR firm). ⠀ ⠀ By having a publicist to support yourself or your business, you will ensure that your public presence and reputation is continually maintained. Also, you will free up your manager to oversee the big picture aspects of your brand. ⠀ ⠀ Got a question, feel free to reach out or comment below😀

{ #BuzzTip}} a Day late on my #buzztiptuesday but the information is still relevant today 🙂 ⠀ Let's talk about Journalist & Building Relationships... 🛎️Journalists, please chime in! 🛎️⠀ ⠀ Be intentional when building relationships with reporters and bloggers:⠀ ○ Pitching story ideas to journalists, reporters, and bloggers is an essential part of any public relations campaign. Because of this, it is crucial to building relationships with your media contacts if you want your stories to be written. Here are a few tips on how to be intentional when building those relationships.⠀ ⠀ ■ Do your research! Find out what each journalist writes about. What is their beat? Have they written similar stories in the past? How often do they publish stories? Do they prefer to receive pitches through email or Twitter DM?⠀ ■ Build a rapport! As you get to know a journalist, take note of their interests and hobbies. This will add a personal touch to your email correspondence and may even bump you up in their stack of story ideas.⠀ ■ Be respectful! If a journalist asks for more information, such as photos, interviews, or statistics, respond promptly so they are not kept waiting.⠀ Remember, they have deadlines too. Also, don’t nag them about your pitch. Keep follow-ups concise and professional.⠀ ⠀ #buzztip #bthebuzzpr #media #journalist #reporters #media #news #newspaper #atlpublicist #atlprfirm #yourpublicistwiththebuzz

{ #BUZZTIPTUESDAY} Keep news values in mind when writing a pitch or press release:⠀ ○ When you pitch a journalist or send a press release over the wire, it is important to⠀ make sure that your story is relevant and newsworthy. For example, a story about⠀ your CEO winning a chess competition may not be of interest to a journalist. This⠀ is because it doesn’t contain enough news values. Every story that you pitch or⠀ write a press release for should contain several news values that journalists are⠀ looking for in a story. The news values are:⠀ ■ Timeliness-- Did the story happen recently?⠀ ■ Impact-- Does your story affect a large number of people?⠀ ■ Prominence-- Are any celebrities or public figures involved in your story?⠀ ■ Conflict-- Does your story involve a disagreement, anger, or outrage?⠀ ■ Unusualness-- Does your story involve something out-of-the-ordinary or⠀ strange?⠀ ■ Proximity-- Is your story happening near where it will be written about?⠀ ⠀ So now do you still think press releases don't matter? They very much do!⠀ #buzztiptuesdays #bthebuzzpr #pressreleases #pr101
