Welcome to Cafe el Meson, a Christian business seeking to show Christ like hospitality to the southwest side of Chicago. This is a cafe where the people stop in for a cup of coffee, sandwiches, and pastries. This is a place where we strive to show utmost hospitality to whomever. Here we also partner with SGA and provide work opportunities for at-risk young men and women in the community. This is a place where ministers in the community can find spiritual rest so that they will be equipped to serve their communities with renewed vigor. On a given night there may be several bible study groups for churches that may not have a meeting space during the week. Who knows, the Lord may also open doors for monthly Cafe El Meson bible studies, open to whomever who seeks to work out life's challenges. I love this café! Smells baked breads all the time because they make all the pastries and cookies they sell on spot! They also make the breads for the sandwiches! Due to the bread all the time, the air can become a bit heavy - not amazing for studying 4+ hours. But otherwise calm and nice study spot. Wifi available and outlets on the walls. God table size too! The coffee here is stronger than avarage american coffee. Dark, with hint of chocolate but not bitter. Great deep taste. The BLTA sandwich had bacon, mustard, mayo, avocado, spinach and tomato. Different than avarage BLT sandwich. The bacon is crispy and already in small bites. It falls out a lot, but better than having one whole bacon pulled out by accident and the rest is bacon-free (you must have been through that 😂) It also tastes what is similar to mashed beans too due to avocado &spinach&mayo. The croissant was unfortunally too long out. It has lost it's crispiness. But it was filled with well distributed air bubbles. I guess these were really good before. Unfortunally too little walnuts too (to be called walnut croissant), but I liked that it was coated in brown sugar. Great combination.
