Made my type 81 LMG into a Tabuk clone DMR type. The tabuk stock was custom made by me by carving a block of Ash hardwood using a Shinto rasping saw. Took out the front bipod which made it front heavy and replaced the wood handguards with a Sigmaco Gen 2.5 handguard to give it a more modern look. Sig Sauer Buckmaster 4-9x scope. A late but great submission for International Women's Day. Our British Columbia Director found this fantastic old photo in his archive, of the Dominion of Canada Marksmen's .22 Rifle Women's Team from Edmonton (circa 1940s?). The tradition is strong in our country, and women shooters have always been a part of our culture and heritage. Upon remarking on 'how things have changed', our B.C. Director corrected me - "only the 'narrative' has" - and he's right. The only thing that has changed is the fact that this made the newspaper back in the day - women shooters are still out there, doing their thing, and doing it well. ...And before anyone corrects me or decide to swoop in remarking on how the 'Dominion Marks'MEN' is problematic, well, I'm pretty sure these ladies had no problem with being 'misgendered', they had far more important things to worry about - like winning shooting competitions. Been testing a lot of hunting loads lately... Im having a hard time trying to get this Tikka shooting sub moa. Even with handloads I can't get a 5rd group under 1". Does anyone here have a Tikka Light that can consistently shoot under 1"? The first 3 looked really good, under half in, but the next two definitely opened the group. Even with handloads I couldn't get it under 1". Everything has been checked, action screws 36inp, scope rings 18inp. Barrel has been cleaned, trigger is set at 2-3pounds. The Canadian Firearms Program imposes another useless measure under the auspices of "public safety". The firearms license for purchase of a firearm magazine requirement purports to prevent the acquisition of firearms magazines by criminals and others through disability of who cannot hold a license for a firearm. As with the requirement for firearms license for ammunition purchase, this regulation is easily circumvented. Criminal gangs and others who wish ammunition have bi passed these regulations for years by simply having gang members or associates who possess no legal disability, and who can lawfully hold a firearms license purchase their ammunition for them. Alternatively, ammunition can be unlawfully purchased and imported from the United States completely outside of Canadian regulations. The Government of Canada and its enforcement agencies cannot prevent the unlawful importation of completely illegal and smuggled firearms, how can they hope to prevent the importation of ammunition and now magazines? Another Fool's Errand courtesy of the Government of Canada, and law-abiding Canadians, with no criminal intent, will now pay and suffer for it. Under pressure from the Internationally funded and politically connected civil disarmament lobby, this measure is intended to strip more law-abiding Canadians of their rights and property. Bans, registration, and regulations do not prevent violent crime. Long criminal sentences do. Fingers behind bars don't pull triggers. This regulation has as much chance of preventing violent crime as the handgun freeze and the May 2020 OIC, which is to say None. Zero. Canada's National Firearms Association encourages Canada's next federal government to extinguish nonsensical regulations such as this and target the violent criminal misuse of firearms. Trying to control bits and pieces is nonsense.
