Sam & Sally were looking for an engagement ring with a symmetry like no other, and I loved working them both to create the perfect balance. 🌿 They were interested in a hexagonal-cut white diamond as the main feature of the ring, but the subtleties of the asymmetry were a task that involved other adorning Australian sapphires and diamonds. 🌿 During the consultation, I was able to create a mock-up of how the ring would appear with the precious stones set into the band. It wasn’t long before we found the perfect balance. 🌿 The central stone is a stunning hexagon-cut diamond. Jess & Hudson are an adorable couple! ❤️ When they arrived at my studio to discuss their wedding rings, I was delighted to hear them share their story. 🌿 Jess had a piece of old family jewellery that she wanted to use to make her ring. I was able to remove a stunning diamond which I re-set into her band. 🌿 Both rings have a textured facet surface and are handmade in classic yellow gold. Other than the heirloom diamond, the other little detail of these special rings, is their unique engraving which lies in theinside of each band. 🌿 Hudson likes things in order and planning, while Jess prefers Jess prefers the more lose and sometimes chaotic approach. These two are the perfect Yin to the other’s Yang. They told me how they have both learned from each other how to better approach life. Making these rings these rings for Jackson and Lucy didn’t feel like work. It was so much fun! 🌿 Jackson knew that he wanted to surprise Lucy with a proposal, but he also wanted the two of them to design the engagement ring together. I suggested using one of my “Reserve Rings” for the proposal, which could then be returned once the couple were engaged and ready to start designing their forever ring. 🌿 All went to plan, and the couple were soon in my studio to finalise designs for Lucy’s special custom made piece. 🌿 Lucy’s engagement ring features a stunning Australian Sapphire with a unique ‘free-form-cut’. This is where the lapidarist (the person cutting the stone @langford_gems) is able to cut the sapphire in an organic way and does not conform to traditional-style classic cuts. It also doesn’t waste the sapphire by cutting away beautiful material just to fit within a classic shape. I love working with these unique shape stones! 🌿 The wedding bands feature a polished faceted texture surface, and each have an engraved gum leaf on the inside surface – when stacked together, they connect as one image of leaves. 🌿 Congratulations you lovely two.
