Just a quick update and a not blurry Lemmiwinks this time. And well, it is positive. The little, moody ball of fluff is still alive and kicking. He looked a little thin a while ago so I made sure to adjust his food to make him gain a little bit of weight, without the need of a bunch of sugar. And now he looks perfect again, patience is key. He still enjoys exploring his enclosure in a nightly basis and will tolerate a human for some treats from time to time. This morning I was treated with this adorable face, so just a quick little picture of me. Usually I would not post a picture of me in worn out makeup after a full day of work, housework and animal care. Yet this one is special. Grumpy boy Lemmiwinks hates being picked up, but on his old days he is allowing me to do so (No one else though). So for once I snapped a very quick picture (And quickly put him back). Out to explore whatever those dangly things are 🤍 Lemmiwinks used to be a near ghost hamster. Though as time went on he allowed me to earn his trust, learn what he likes so I could adjust his enclosure to his wants and needs, he even seems to enjoy a tiny cuddle here and there. My moody boy 🤭😂🐹 . Lemmiwinks can look like he is a scary fuzzbal with razorblades in his mouth. Even though he is a big fella and can look like he needs a cup of coffee, he is an interesting creature. He is actually quite clear in setting his boundaries and is not a big biter at all (he nipped once, after someone ignored my and his warnings... So I let Lemmiwinks enforce his boundaries to set the record straight and it never happened again 😂). He enjoys just to be left alone, but I managed to grow enough of a bond he allows me to pet him, hand feed treats and pick him up in emergencies (Still solidly hates it though). A cute thing he tends to do is shake his head 'No' at treats he dislikes. He prefers vegetarian food (nuts and seeds), and aside a few exceptions he straight up refuses meat protein (He has a strong dislike for mealworms and anything alike). As a result I keep a close eye on him getting all his nutrients so he is a healthy happy boy...
