Its been a rough week. We said our final goodbye to you on this day last year. The words I spoke at your funeral pops John Hall still resonate with me. When I was with you talking with you while you were laying in bed still echo in my heart. I promised you pops! I promised and I meant it. Walking the walls that you walked and talking to you asking you if this or that is okay. Getting to be in your favorite room, well I thought was your favorite room is something I enjoy more than words could say. We miss you so much but we are so thankful you don't hurt. We are taking good care of mom Penny Sue Carpenter Hall all of us!!!! You would be so proud of David Hall and Craig Hall so many things they want to show you it hurts. Rachael Hall wow she is just amazing works so hard and working hard in school she is doing it pops! Me well I try to keep mom laughing and we cry and pray lol. I love that I get to be in this Family. Damascus reveal

I'll be back on Monday! Been getting ready for our big estate sale. Combining 2 established households has been a long and tedious process but we are close to the finish line! Can't wait to put the new shop toys to use!!!!!

It's been 2 weeks now since #Dad passed. I've got myself busy doing anything but working at my bench. He wouldn't want that it's time to turn the lights back on.

Finished this one up for one of our youth at church. He joined the #marines when he graduated this past spring. I told him that when he graduated from #bootcamp he'd have something waiting for him. Nitro V stainless hand sanded to 400 then sandblasted, to take the shiney off and give it a flat grey look. Handles are camo with orange and black liners to represent the Marines home town. One of my first attempts at Damascus San Mai, that I did a few months ago. I really loves how this ended up. Can't wait to get back in the swing of things and come up with more of my own stuff.

The older I get, the more blessed I realize I am, to have the parents and family that I do. My Dad.....shew.....yeah, he taught us how to hunt, how to fish, how to throw and catch a ball...but that's just the easy stuff. Now that I'm older, I realize he's taught me how to be a good man. The hard stuff! How to pick myself up and do what needs to be done, because your family counts on you, no matter how much it hurts( mentally or physically). How to face things that might scare me to death but still have to be done or faced. How to stand up for what I believe in, even when it's not the popular thing to do. That excuses don't matter. How to be fierce inorder to protect the ones I love and be soft when I need to be. Most importantly....how to love a woman. To stand beside them through EVERYTHING! Craig Hall and I are lucky guys and have a giant of a shadow to walk in. Thank you Dad! John Hall YOU are our inspiration!

The day has finally came, for this beauty to go home. The owner of this one bought it and then had to go back home abroad. 2yrs later they are back in the states and will be getting there knife in just a few days. This knife has a long history with me and I'll be sorry to see her go.

Part 2 First Damascus Finished up my first billet. Got enough for a couple builds. Nothing fancy, just a low layer twist pattern. I'll start working it down into something usable tomorrow. Can't wait to see what it looks like.
