✨Introducing: Zenith Series!✨ (More info below! 👇) Hey everyone! I've recently been stewing over how to update ZenithWorkshop a bit going forward. Ever since Niji v6 launched a couple months ago, the possibilities for creating fanart of all my favourite characters has skyrocketed, and I've been obsessed ever since. However, the franchises and characters I cover can be a little sporadic and untidy, and eventually the posts end up buried deep in the gallery and hard to find. I'm a bit of an obsessive compulsive when it comes to organising and collecting things, and so I wanted to take all of my favourite franchises and make official series for them each time I post. For example, whenever I make fanart for a Zelda character, that character will have an official post with [Zenith Series: The Legend of Zelda] in the title. That post will then be shared in my stories and added to the "Zelda" highlight which can be found at the top of my gallery. If you ever wanted to view all my future Zelda posts in one place, they would all be neatly filed in a highlight rather than scattered across months of different posts. I chose the ten series that are featured in this post very carefully as they're not only beloved franchises and hobbies of mine, but they also each host an incredibly huge cast of characters that Niji has come to familiarise rather well. While these are the main series, I will still be covering many other franchises as well. For example, One Piece is my favourite Shonen Jump series, but you can bet I'll be making collections for Dragon Ball, Naruto, Bleach, MHA, Demon Slayer, and many others going forward. If this is a lot to take in, don't worry! The content you would usually expect from me is not changing in the slightest. Just getting some filing cabinets installed to make my brain happy. 😁 I hope there's at least one franchise on here that you're excited to see me cover. Finished Aymr! I brought the prop to MTAC today and wanted to share how I made it below :) It’s mostly made from EVA foam, PVC, and acrylic paint. Let me know if you have any more questions! First I sketched a few versions and sizes to make sure I knew how I wanted it to look. This gives me a pattern to work from and helps familiarize me with the shapes Then I cut 4 layers of 10 mm foam to the shape of the ax. I used PVC and dowels to add some internal structure, then contact cemented the layers together with the handle. I then used a dremel to soften down any too-sharp angles and generally shape it. The sharp spines and teeth were made with foam clay and dowels to hold their shape. The handle was also covered in foam clay to give a little more mass and make it paintable. Finally I primed and painted using assorted acrylic paints. I tried to use a variety of creme, brown and yellow colors to make it look made from bone. I also added a wooden dowel through the PVC handle to give some extra support because it was bowing a bit too much.
