Brad Pitt talked about his face blind condition in a GQ interview (link in bio). When we read about Brad Pitt's struggles with face blindness, it reminded us of the inspiration behind our short film "Falcon Eyes." It's a coming-of-age story about a young girl named Jan who loses her ability to remember her late mother's face due to childhood prosopagnosia triggered by grief and trauma. As someone who has a loved one who grapples with similar challenges recognizing faces, this is an issue close to my heart. We want to shine light on the reality of those who deal with conditions like face blindness or visual memory deficits. And make clear the truth - that it has nothing to do with being cold, aloof or not caring. There are deeply painful challenges to navigation and connection happening beneath the surface. We appreciate Brad Pitt speaking openly about face blindness, which affects nearly 2% of the population. By being vulnerable and truthful about our struggles, we open the door for awareness and support. If this film resonates with your story, please tag #FalconEyes and join the conversation. There is power, purpose and inspiration when we share our voices. Photography by Elizaveta Porodina #bradpitt #gq #gqmagazine #faceblindness #prosopagnosia #interview #falconeyesfilm

Face Blind Story No.2: Barrie’s Story ‘While walking along a country path with my son, Jamie, we unexpectedly encountered two middle-aged ladies with dogs. As we approached, one of the ladies greeted me in the friendliest of terms, “Hello Barrie.” I responded with a cheery greeting but briskly walked on past them with my son in hot pursuit, as I had failed to recognize them and did not want to expose my failure or cause embarrassment. “Who was that?” asked Jamie. “I haven’t the faintest idea,” said I. “You made it rather obvious,” said Jamie disapprovingly. Throughout my life, I had faced a similar predicament on countless occasions and had always either behaved evasively or used bluff in conversation to hide my inability to recognize someone who apparently knew me well. To this day, I still do not know who the two ladies were, and I would like to apologize for my apparently offhand behavior. This particular incident starkly brought home to me for the first time that I suffer from face blindness. The lesson I learned from it is to declare my disability of face blindness openly and to explain and excuse my recognition failure in conversation when confronted in similar circumstances.‘ Hi guys! We are making a short film ‘Falcon Eyes’ based on the true face blind stories like Barrie’s. On 7th July, we will launch a film campaign on Kickstarter so please follow us.
