Did you know that the E-DIFF BYPASS ECU (SEB ECU) in "Normal Full Version" can also be easily configured to always disable the E-DIFF, just like the "Permanently disabled E-DIFF Version"? If you have the "Normal Full Version" with F/W V3.2 and one day you decide to always disable the E-DIFF, then just configure it as follows (also explained in our guide): Set the Manettino in ICE Mode - Press the throttle during 5 seconds - A beep confirms the new setting For the older versions < F/W V3.2, the same can be done but with the remote control unit. When you need to permanently disable the E-DIFF, we highly recommend to install also our "Blanking Plug Kit" to remove all the unused E-DIFF hydraulic related parts. That's a lot less hydraulic fluid to pressurize, reduces the risk of metal shavings contamination of the fluid and your F1 system will only be happier. The F430 E-DIFF is a wearable item at very high cost, is not going to last forever and considerably reduces the drive experience. Therefore, we recommend to save it by installing the E-DIFF BYPASS ECU (SEB ECU) and use the E-DIFF only when really needed. When disabling entirely the Ferrari F430 E-DIFF system, we recommend to remove both IN and OUT hydraulic hoses, the solenoid valve and the pressure sensor. The hydraulic hoses can be easily and entirely removed from the quick couplings at the Power Unit side. It's important to disconnect or remove also the E-DIFF ECU. Here is our new tech baby: Smart INTEL ECU for all Ferrari F430, Scuderia, 16M and Maserati 3200 GT, 4200 Coupé/Spyder 2002-2007, GranSport Coupé/Spyder 2005-2007 . We designed a new INTEL - Interior Lighting ECU which entirely replaces the old #194913-373307129-224420 OEM Timer ECU. This Timer ECU is of very old technology, has limited primitive features but also causes voltage/current leaks. Such leaks are enough to drain the battery if not plugged to a tender. The OEM Timer ECU offers poor functionalities limited to simple on/off switching of the dome light when the door opens or a fast dome light on/off flash when you unlock the car with the fob. Our microprocessor based INTEL ECU is made of the latest automotive electronic technologies, all certified AEC, making it a real modern solution. NEW - Specific SEB ECU Version for permanently disabling the E-DIFF on the Ferrari F430 - Scuderia - 16M Since specialized workshops encounter more and more failing E-DIFF differentials (internal hydraulic pressure losses, internal hydraulic leaks mixing with the transmission oil, air leaks entering the hydraulic system, worn friction disks, hydraulic fluid contaminated with differential metallic fillings, random E-DIFF errors, etc.), they asked us to develop a simplified version which permanently disables the E-DIFF whatever the Manettino position is. The cost to replace the entire differential is prohibitive in terms of parts (complete differential #238598 - no individual spare parts) and work hours (transmission out repair). In this case, they and their customers prefer to fix the issue by disabling entirely the E-DIFF, remove the hydraulic hoses and plug the holes at the differential and Power Unit. The E-DIFF ECU itself can also be removed as it will not used anymore. With this specific SEB ECU version, the E-DIFF will never be activated anymore, no errors will appear on the instrument panel and the car won't go anymore in limp mode because of E-DIFF issues. That's why this SEB ECU version does not have a remote control unit and also does not have the wire harness towards the E-DIFF ECU. It simply plugs directly on the E-DIFF wire harness which has been unplugged from the E-DIFF ECU. The SEB ECU has now been installed on many Ferrari F430 - Scuderia - 16M. A lot of them had permanent E-DIFF issues caused by internal hydraulic pressure losses and as a consequence, caused constant F1 issues like getting stuck in gear or neutral and even forced engine shutdowns with blocked clutch. With such E-DIFF issues, the car will also be forced in limp mode (low grip mode + limited engine power). What's happening is that the hydraulic fluid under pressure flows directly back to the return pipe when the E-DIFF solenoid valve is opened causing an instant big pressure loss which is not recovered by the pump making it running very <10 seconds. As a consequence, the F1 system is deprived of hydraulic pressure causing it to fail too. In such running conditions, the pump won't last long neither. Unfortunately, changing the E-DIFF solenoid valve alone doesn't fix such internal leaks and there are no spare parts available to repair the differential and requires the entire replacement of the transmission at very high cost. The SEB ECU eliminates such E-DIFF issues while offering a much better overall handling of the car. 100% Plug & Play. Back on track to make further test sessions of our solutions but also give a chance to our friends and their kids to enjoy some great moments. Impressed again how amazing the SEB ECU is, so obvious on track. Even when driving really hard, the F430 remains glued on the ground, not even once the ASR kicked in and the car becomes well more predictable of its limits. Impressed again how amazing the SEB ECU is, so obvious on track. Even when driving really hard, the F430 remains glued on the ground, not even once the ASR kicked in and the car becomes well more predictable of its limits. Our SEB ECU continues to be installed on many Ferrari F430 - Scuderia - 16M all around the world and we're very happy to hear the great feedback like: Very "mechanical" feel as opposed to "electronically assisted" driving experience. Rear wheels not trying to lock up on every turn. I can definitely tell that the rear end feels « free » but not in a bad way. Car is a blast to drive. Fixed my E-DIFF issues. We've created the missing link which will greatly improve the visual Ferrari 488 brake safety. The center fog light will flash when the brakes are applied but also depending on the deceleration force. When braking hard, the centralized ECU system and the embedded deceleration sensor will detect the level of deceleration and make the fog light flash to warn drivers behind you. Entirely configurable among many possibilities. Must be installed by a specialized workshop. For the USA, we highly recommend Renown Auto Restoration who has the expertise to make such installation and installed it already on many 488s.
