Lunch date with my co-worker 🧑 to this hidden place off of Yonge and college 🚗. Welcome to @ohbombaytoronto 🦁. You wouldnt really expect to find a place like this in such a secluded side street but we are in this elegant dining spot with relaxing upscale ambient 💠. 📍21 Grenville St, Toronto 🍸Pomegranate mocktail 🍹Shirley temple 🌽Crispy corn 🌿Hara bhara kebab 🍋Lemon punch 🥭Mango lassi 🧀Paneer tikka butter masala 🍖Rogan josh lab 🫓Garlic and butter naan 🥕Gajar ka halwa 🍨Pistachio kulfi The crispy corn 🌽 was not at all what i thought it would be. This is a heavily spiced and fried medley of battered corn and veggies 🧅 with touches of sweet, sour, and spicy. You hardly notice the corn until you hit a kernel that pops a spark of flavour 💢. The hara bhara kebab is my new flavour indian appetizer 🌿. Its a fried spinach and coriander patty that is deceptively bright green with a shell of breadcrumbs 🙌. I had absolutely no idea what this was but was surprised to discover a wonderful soft earthy bite with very delicate flavours of greenery 🌱. The curries were a total explosion of flavour 🧨. The rogan josh had incredibly tender falling part cubes of lamb 🐑 with a wonderful spice gravy 🍲. Its hard to describe the flavours when it melds so uniformly into a single spicy curry note 🌶️. The paneer tikka butter masala is more creamy with large slates of squishy paneer 🧀. Its not spicy at all. You can taste more of the tomato mixed with cream 🍅. We were quite stuffed with all the curry and naan but we couldnt resist dessert 😂. Another new discovery for me was the gajar ka halwa, which is a carrot puree 🥕 that is warm with syrup and lifts you into a whole different world of deliciousness. Almost like a palette cleanser, the pistachio kulfi 💚 was basically a pistachio ice cream wedge. Maybe after the gajar ka halwa, I didnt find this ice cream very sweet but I really appreciated the crust of pistachio 🌰 on the understand also also the additional pistachio decoration. 🙏Thank you @ohbombaytoronto for the introduction to so many new Indian dishes. We were amazed at all they had to offer, including clothing, jewellery, furniture, and antiques! Of course visiting here is not without a taste of the food. We visited the following food stalls: 1) The Fritter Co. - Ordered a dozen apple fritters. These were made fresh to order! They're rolled in cinnamon and sugar. It's a must-try here! 2) Chorizos La Abuela - Got the pulled pork tacos. I liked how flavourful the pork was. 3) Country Cravings - Their roast beef sandwich is quite hearty. It's filled with a ton of meat.

A new fried chicken shop 🐣 is popping up North of Lawrence 🧭. Welcome @yumyumchickenca 🐔 to the neighbourhood. The are developing their own specialty sauces with new flavours you've never seen before 👀. Only a couple months old 👶, they are looking to be a neighbourhood favourite for juicy chicken 🐣. 📍3238 Yonge St, Toronto 🍗Creamy wasabi bone-in half chicken 🍗Cheeto bone-in half chicken 🍟Cheddar fries For two half chickens 🍗, each piece is really massive. You get about 6 pieces each but I only managed about 4 pieces before tapping out 🙂↕️. The chicken meat is especially juicy. It's amazing how succulent chicken can be 💦. They cook everything fresh so it comes to the table at peak consition. Right now they are running a few deals on popular delivery apps like @ubereats and @fantuan_on 🚗. We went against the grain with their speciality flavours so you know what to expect 👍. The creamy wasabi has already been gaining some popularity and for good reason 💚. It doesnt have any of the string that most people associate with wasabi more of a gentle tang. You could mistake this for a creamy avocado sauce. There is also a slight hint of sweetness ✨ to the sauce that is pretty interesting. I love cheetos so I was really excited to try this one 🧀. Although they say it's spicy, its really not. They basically pulverize crunchy cheetos with a couple of flaming hot ones 🔥 to achieve this cheeto dust that they generously pile onto the chicken. Again, there is an apparent sugariness ✨ to this flavour as well which lightens it up from being a one note salty cheesy snow on top of the chicken 🌨️. I really like the inventiveness and it's definitely a flavour I could get behind. As a side we went with the cheddar fries 🍟. The fries are pretty typical potatoey fries with a crackling batter. The cheese sauce is a nice salty classic American orange cheese drizzled all over the fries 🧡. 🙏Thank you @yumyumchickenca for the fried chicken delights. Date Night Continues. From Tuna Tiradito to wagyu Tartare, Octopus, Cheesecake, and bread Pudding, everything was well received. New Menu is going great, even though I thought Oysters are performing poorly. There are no changes to the menu for the next few weeks. Date Night Continues ( $100). Tuesday, starting from April 23rd, we will be open from 5pm to 9pm. Industry Night Tuesday starts April 23rd as well. #staysafe.
