Have you tasted Ghugni? Ghugni or dried white/yellow peas in gravy was for my breakfast today. Topped with onion, cucumber, green chillies with a drizzle of lime or a tangy tamarind chutney, Ghugni is a very popular snack across the Indian subcontinent. Popular as street-side food in the Eastern and North - Eastern parts of India especially in the states of Bengal, Bihar, Orissa and Assam. I have numerous memories of savouring on this lip-smacking snack from the roadside stalls of Kolkata while roaming around the city visiting the Durga Puja pandals or some Mela grounds! I personally always used to ask the 'bhaiya' or the street vendor for some extra tamarind chutney on my Ghugni. 😋😋 I am sure my fellow Bengali friends will also have such numerous memories with this lip-smacking chaat or snack!
