Final reflection: Throughout this term, my work has truly grown. I have branched out from my typical styles into more acrylic pieces as well as tried some watercolor. My biggest accomplishment in this class was trying different styles, like in my painting Rainy Day, and making bigger pieces. Overall, I feel that my artwork has grown, as shown in the picture of my first and last piece of work. My most memorable goal that I had one week was to try an acrylic painting. I ended up achieving this goal and it inspired me to create more acrylic pieces. The most important piece of feedback I received was when my friend suggested adding decorative strokes into my painting. One of my most important takeaways from this class was to keep going. I made a lot of mistakes but was able to move on and fix them as I continued to work. #gdartists

Final Reflection :) My Favorite/Most Memorable- frog rock🐸🪨 I love this rock because I think it’s funny looking and it’s so simple. First Piece- girl upside down on a bar 🙃 I never finished it because I started moving on to other art mediums for class. It was practice and I was imitating a photo I found online. Last Piece- Rubber Valorant Duck 🦆 I liked making this because I got to make one of my favorite sprays into a real souvenir. I made this out of clay and I plan to glaze it. Comparing 1st & Last- My first piece was in my wheelhouse of sketching and my last was 3d in a material I haven’t used in years (clay). I like both of them but I enjoyed doing something different with the clay. My work was all very different. Something that was memorable to me was that I learned how to carve into this rubber-ish material which I thought was really cool because it was like reverse sketching. It was like making my own stamp. I think I’ve improved my overall skills by practicing everyday and exploring new mediums. My biggest accomplishment was being able to put out as much art as I did. I tried a lot of new/different things too. I feel good about my art. There are still a few things I would like to complete before the end of class but this was a fun process because I got to be creative. My goal was to try different mediums I don’t necessarily have access to after class. I also wanted to make as much quality work as I could and I think for the most part I did. I honestly didn’t get too much deep feedback in the class because I was very zeroed in on my work. There were cracks in the clay duck at one point and I was told to put slip in it to fix it and so far so good🤞, so I would say the feedback I did get was helpful. I figured out how to make flip books during this class. I think that was one of my biggest accomplishments for this class. #gdartist #gdartists

5/17/2024, 4:39:57 PM

Over the course of the term I think my art has progressed a lot. I started with simple drawings and ended up trying new things. My biggest accomplishment in this class was staying consistent with my art.Overall I feel my art has gotten much better than when I started. My most memorable goal was using sharpie in my drawings more which I think I accomplished making drawings of characters is my favorite so I think that helped me improve my goal. The most important feedback I used was to add more design to the piece in this post. I’m glad I got this advice because I ended up really liking it. My most important takeaway from the class is that getting out of your comfort zone is good for progress and helps you learn about yourself and how you work. Final reflection #gdartists

Final reflection! Throwback to this sketch that partially inspired this final piece too I don’t really think that my art has changed all that much throughout this class, although I also feel like I spent so much time on my final pieces that I didn’t get to experiment all that much. I do think that I learned a lot about painting, so that is definitely my biggest accomplishment, and I want to continue painting after this class is over. I like my artwork now, and I think my painting has gotten much better over the years. Most of my goals throughout this class were just starting or finishing pieces, and I definitely did that. Those goals didn’t really change all that much. One piece of feedback I have received was to add more small details to my pieces, and I feel like I really did that with two of my final pieces in this class. I’m really proud of this piece and all of the little details I added, like the moss and all of the highlights, and I want to make more pieces using some of these techniques. #gdartists

Final reflection: This is my most memorable price this year because I spent weeks sketching, outlining and coloring it. I went to see Nicki Manaj perform at the TD garden this year and that definitely inspired me to draw this. I was also inspired by a picture someone took of her in a giant fur coat. I thought that coat looked really fun to draw. #gdartists
