After a full week in Portugal we have seen over 20 amazing Lusitano’s at 8 top Lusitano breeders. 😍 My client was able to ride all the horses, meet the relatives, see the mother and often the fathers at the breeders place. Talk to the breeders about the characters and unique parts of every single horse. After making the first selection for a top 5 favorites we tried the horses for a second time. 👀 Yesterday was the third and final round to make a final decision. And we are in the finishing progress now. ❤️ VERY VERY happy with the Lusitano’s that were offered. Day 5 was the day where we returned to see some of the horses for the second time. Lots of kilometers driving, lots of talking, lots of watching the videos over and over again. 👀 And after every exhausting day it’s always great to end the day with my dear friends at @quinta_do_falcao_ to enjoy other horse people stories from all over the 🌍 world, and enjoy a great dinner. In January I visited Portugal 🇵🇹 again with @my_cavago for the very first Global Horse Dreamtours. In 6 days I experienced some of the best of Portugal’s equestrian activities. And again I was so lucky to meet some of Portugal’s equestrian professionals for an interview for the HorseHeroes podcast. Listen and enjoy all of their amazing stories. 🎤 His passion for horses started in the early years of his life. He started riding as a child and his masters were Luis Valença and Dr. Guilherme Borba. In 1984, he joined the Portuguese School of Equestrian Art @arte.equestre as a rider, where he continues to work and is currently a Mestre-Picador. He is also a riding instructor and trains riders of different nationalities in individual lessons in his stables in Lisbon. Given his huge passion for horses and specifically for the Lusitano breed, he began as a breeder in 1989 when he founded the stud farm Lusitanos d’Atela @lusitanosdatela His daughter Inês has had contact with horses since she was a baby. Having been brought up in the studfarm, she was keen to have a professional life in the equine industry too. She went on to study Veterinary Medicine 👩🏼‍⚕️ at Lisbon University and then spent some years abroad gaining experience in different areas of the veterinary world. The first theme is "posture and seat" and three top trainers will give clinics for ALL riders, at all levels. Here we train horses up to Grand Prix level, as well as giving lessons and clinics. Besides being an instructor, I am also a judge up to Grand Prix level. Several events have already been organized in Portugal and the Netherlands. 🔥From Thursday 20 July to Tuesday 25 July, we organize the Global Horse Clinics again 🔥 Instructor Pedro Teixeira Farto will come over from Portugal 🇵🇹 for Dressage or Working Equitation lessons. We will be present these days at a number of locations in Limburg, Wapenveld and Eemnes. In Wapenveld, photographer @lauradijkslagfotografie will be present for mini shoots during the lessons 📸 🐴 @pedroteixeirafarto works as manager and head trainer at @quinta_do_falcao_ where he trains about 25 horses, mainly for dressage and Working Equitation. He has a number of broodmares, stallions and foals and he runs an equestrian shop. He also gives clinics and lessons in the Netherlands, Belgium, France, Germany, Finland, Sweden and Switzerland. During training, Pedro challenges the rider to improve the interaction with the horse. Every horse is unique as is every rider. His lessons are very intense, incredible learn full and always with a dose of fun and humor. For both adults as children! 🤩 If you would like to come and watch, feel free to do so.
