A group photo for our first friendly match of the season as @theherongolfclub Seniors or the “nearly dead reds” a name coined by Lee 😂 We were away to @topmeadowgolfclub Seniors, and my first match as Captain 🫡 These friendly matches comprise teams of 16, as 8 pairs, in a four-ball-better-ball handicap event. They’re “friendly” in that there might be generous gimmees, minor rule infringements might be overlooked, and there’s no league table. In that spirit, it finished an “honourable draw” but sadly in Top Meadow’s favour 4.5 to 3.5. A good start for our first match of the season, very encouraging.
