To the man who tried to ruin our beach morning 🖕 My mom is down and it's been a first for her meeting Haru, Yuki, Xena and Eva. Today I took her to the beach and brought Haru with for a walk. Although we are working on our reactions (both myself and Haru) I put us out there and set us up for some obstacles. We need to learn. And he needs to he put in a field where we can learn Haru was so on top of the world! Running into the water and having the beach all to ourselves ! Digging holes and just running up and down. A couple of dogs walked past and people and no reactions came from Haru. As we were walking back a man with 2 medium sized dogs was walking onto the beach - off leash. I watched the female as she started approaching us (running with excitement- who wouldn't be happy to be at the beach) I watched as she approached my mom from behind and yelled for the man to recall his dog. All in the same breath Haru reacted to this dog being so close. After a couple of tugs and pulls Haru was in full reaction mode. I kept my cool as this man yelled back at me " why bring that THING to the beach" So to the man. You can be glad I'm working on myself. My dog did not react in a bad way. Your dog ran into our bubble. I warned you to recall your dog for your dogs safety. As accidents happen I will continue to take my ON LEAD dog to the beach. Because he is ALLOWED too. Although there's many colorful words wanting to come out. I type this post with a huge smile on my face and heart full of pride. That although we had a reaction. Haru calmed down immediately. I'm so tired of entitled people thinking they own the place. We all need to be aware of others spaces. We all want our dogs to be free and run around. But be mindful. We had a set back yesterday A very big one. And I feel very much responsible for it. I've not been the greatest- emotionally and although I felt like I was OK to walk yesterday- I clearly wasn't. Haru felt it and ended up reacting really badly. To the point of me almost losing control of him, luckily, the other owner stayed calm and walked away. I feel really bad about this situation as the owner is one who always encourages us on our walks and tells us how good we are doing. I feel embarrassed and I feel like I let Haru down. At the moment I feel the smallest I've ever been in life and I'm very confused about life. Not because of Haru. But everything else. I keep telling everyone to be happy and that everything will be fine... but im not even taking my own advice at the moment. I really don't know what to do... I do hope that everyone else is having a better start to the week and that we can all pull our tongues out at life and scream at the top of our lungs and say "We can do it!"
