Luckily, as a huge beach lover myself, I have practiced my routine for years and want to share my TOP 5 HAIRCARE TIPS I’ve found to work best to help protect those delicate strands! 🧜♀️ 1.) ALWAYS use a leave-in conditioner BEFORE getting into the ocean, pool, etc. You can do this by wetting your hair first with fresh water, gently towel dry, and follow by spritzing your favorite leave-in conditioner on your hair. This acts as a protective barrier between the salt/pool water and your hair! 2.) Brush your hair BEFORE getting it wet. This is true for any time (even before a wash) Hair is more prone to tangling when wet and is also 50% more fragile. If you pre-detangle your hair before submerging it into water, this ensures less stress on your hair. 3.) Wear your hair in braids! Keeping your hair controlled by a braid will not only help with tangling after swimming, but also helps keep your leave-in conditioner snuggled in 🫶🏻 4.) Shampoo and use a hair mask AFTER swimming Getting in the shower and washing the salt or swimming pool chemicals out of your hair is HUGE. Leaving it in can cause dryness, mineral build-up and scalp irritation. Make sure to cleanse gently and follow up with a deep conditioner to replenish those thirsty strands 💧 5.) HAVE FUN but BE SMART! Hair services are a luxury~ If you choose to invest in getting your hair done professionally, invest the same way into your home care routine! Think of this as hair insurance. I always tell my clients- “your hair is only as good as YOU are when you leave the salon” meaning, don’t spend $300+ on your hair just to turn around and not have insurance to protect it 😉 . . . .
