Happy National Arbor Day! As a company we celebrate Arbor Day every year. This year we gave our team members to go out in their communities to plant some trees, clean up a local park or waterway, or clean up a dumpsite through Michigan's Department of Natural Resources! Our Timber Mt. Pleasant team partnered with Conservation & Resource Alliance and SEEDS to plant hundreds of trees in Manistee National Forest. The Timber Big Rapids location was able to meet with the Quarter 4 food insecurity nonprofit, Project Starburst to give them a donation! Project Starburst currently serves 13,000 meals per month in the Mecosta and Osceola counties. As we celebrate Global Volunteer Month, we'd like to shine a spotlight on our Big Rapids team. The Timber Big Rapids location volunteered with Mana Pantry recently. We asked General Manager, Nick F why they chose to volunteer at the pantry. "We volunteered at the Mana Pantry because they are a Pillar of the Community. They provide families with up to 8+ people the ability to sleep each night on a full belly. As someone who is as passionate about food as anyone can be, no one should have to worry about their next food. I loved helping, most of their volunteers are seniors so they really appreciated all we could do with the time we spent there." High Minded 's philanthropy initiative is one of our favorite ways to give! Each quarter the High Minded facilities create a product to support a cause. A portion of profit goes back to the organization we are supporting. Many of these causes are personal to our employees. Proceeds from sales of our 2023 batch of Crush OG go to support families fighting breast cancer, and its aftermath. Quarter 4 we supported Angels of Hope - A Family Cancer Foundation, a nonprofit that provides critical support to Michigan families directly impacted by cancer. This is on the behalf of our very own Marketing Manager, Chivonne R who was diagnosed with breast cancer last year. After the diagnosis, Chivonne and the High Minded team chose to give back. Chivonne selected a personal favorite High Minded 🌸, the one she found herself reaching for over and over throughout treatment. We packed it up, named it Crush OG, and donated proceeds to support women navigating breast cancer treatment. Quarter 4 donations go towards food banks/shelters for the unhoused or animal shelters. Our @timber_canna Muskegon location chose Big Lake Humane Society and donated $2500! @timber_canna Three Rivers location is pawsome for donating their quarter 4 check to Refurbished Pets of Southern Michigan. Refurbished Pets of Southern Michigan is the first stray dog prison program in the state of Michigan. All of their dogs are in foster homes before they enter training for 10 weeks.
