I did it. Im blown away at this car man. Absolute perfect day. First pass off the trailer and it was in the 10’s! And then backed it right up! Car worked flawlessly. The 4.56 gear did exactly what it was supposed to do. Car had the best 60’ it ever has at a 1.45( i would still like it to be better tho) I can officially say i have a 10 second, ALL MOTOR street car!! With full interior, and drive it on the street more than I race it. This combination is a legit high mileage stock bottom end 302, average flowing vintage j302 heads, and off the shelf top end parts. It all just “works” i guess. Super thankful for all of the help today from my pops @troyrudder5.0 , my brother @troy_rudder , @neon_racer2003 , and my grandpa! And very helpful for all of the help over the years. Man. What a great day. Minus the disaster of a rental tmp put on( not cjr’s fault) This car never ceases to amaze me. Previously the car ran 11.3@121 in pristine conditions, with one kirkey seat and no other seats in the car. Today it clicked off an 11.1@121, with a personal best mph of 122. I raced this car today exactly as i drive it on the street, minus the v stack and slicks of course. In my opinion the car desperately needs more gear. I knew doing this combo the 4.30 would hold me back, but i didnt think this much. No matter which way tire pressure went, or shock changes, 60 foot didnt change much, 1.50’s. Stick car like this should be in the low 1.4’s high 1.3’s, i think. 4.56 should do the trick. The new @advancedclutch did exactly what i wanted it to, shift’s beautifully at 7200rpm. Spent the day with my pops @troyrudder5.0 getting this car sorted out, hopefully once and for all. Removed the part store replacement clutch that didnt like 7000rpm shifts in favor for an @advancedclutch clutch, and @prw_industries billet steel flywheel. Found a dry/broken pilot bearing, and a bunch of bolts around the car that were really just hand tight. The new clutch and flywheel feels insane. 7500rpm shifts like butter, no issues with over extending the pressure plate. Today during a visit at @mopacautosupply in Edmonton, a quick tour of the store and looking through the mounds of inventory two white boxes caught the corner of my eye. I’ve been trying to get my hands on a set of these for years, but they were discontinued. Probably the last two in existence! 3” aluminum @vibrant_performance mufflers for the red coupe. Once it goes to the track next month for the hopeful 10 second slip it will go to Stu at @fiveninemotorsports.ca for an aluminum exhaust with dumps at the axle. Where it was 4 months ago and where it sits today! A lot of you have seen me post this thing for sale because to be honest I never saw myself finishing it. It took so long at the bodyshop it got finished at a weird part of my life. I dont need a race car. I also dont need to spend 40k on a car that will only be driven on the odd cruise night and at the track only. The red coupe is a little on the radical side, it gets street miles but not as many as I’d like. Thankfully no one bought this thing because over the next year, maybe two it is going to be built into the most perfect “pro touring” type of foxbody. What does that mean? Big wheels, big brakes, full interior, full exhaust, full sized gas tank, T56 magnum, sound deadening. Maybe even A/C? I need something i can get into and drive anywhere and any time. Power plant will be a stock bottom end 302, single turbo using the best components from @vibrant_performance, holley efi, the list goes on. The goal is to be able to make 650+ on e85, drive it to the track, change the wheels, lick off a 9 second pass full weight, and drive it home.
