Windsor Castle - a fabulous day out! Even in the rain! It was a washout with my visit this week but luckily I had some photos from a visit a few years ago hence the blue sky in these pics! Here are a few tips if planning a visit to Windsor Castle. Guard change at Windsor Castle takes place on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays from 11am. Unfortunately due to the wet weather the band didn’t appear for us. Football training with Tom @championprosoccer recommences on Monday 19th Feb, 5-6pm at Three Rivers Academy Astro pitch. My son was quite hesitant at first, not knowing if he would know any friends, and would the others be better than him but since joining Tom’s sessions he’s really developed and thoroughly enjoys these sessions and the holiday camps Tom runs. Tom isn’t just about the football. His ethos around the game, the team, to play fair and be respectful and kind is instilled in every session Tom runs. I know because I enjoy standing on the sidelines watching! (And chatting to the other Mum’s!) 🤭 What’s also great is that my son has made friends with others who aren’t at his school, and when we bumped into them recently at the park, they can play together and continue their friendship off the pitch. The giggles and laughter says it all. Disruptive roadworks will be taking place on many of Surrey’s major motorways and A-roads this week which drivers will need to be aware of. This includes a full closure of the M3 in both directions between junction 3 and junction 4 from 9pm on Friday, December 8 until 6am on Monday, December 11. During this time, the footbridge over the M3 in Bagshot is to be demolished after a recent structural survey of the bridge raised urgent safety concerns. Drivers will need to follow diversion routes while this closure is in effect. Diversion routes During the weekend closure, there will be signed diversion routes in place as follows: Southbound full closure of Junction 3 to Junction 4: All vehicles exit at M3 South junction 3, turn right onto A322 and continue for approximately 1 mile before turning left onto the A30 London Road. After approximately 4.5 miles turn left on to the A331 and then rejoin the M3 Southbound at Junction 4. Northbound full closure of Junction 4a to Junction 3: All vehicles exit at M3 junction 4a onto the A327 for approximately 1.8 miles, turn right on to the A30 continue for approximately 7.1 miles and turn right onto Grove End link road, turning left onto the A322, before turning left to rejoin the M3 Northbound at Junction 3. Northbound on-slip closure of Junction 4 (approaching from Frimley): All vehicles from Junction 4, continue along the A331 and then turn right onto the A30 London Road. I was kindly invited last night so see it all before they open their doors on December 7th. It was absolutely stunning inside and what really surprised me was the sheer size of the pub! It has nooks, snugs, an orangery, a terrace and a private dining room too. A friendly and relaxed pub open to everyone including dogs it’s a great addition to the area. I also had to capture the absolutely exquisite toilets for the ladies! I can’t wait to return and try the full menu. We sampled the Stix sharing platters which were really tasty, served with a beautiful glass of @fitzwineuk English sparkling wine 👌🏻 A big thumbs up from me, it’s a stunning pub.
