Last Tuesday, our club was recognized with multiple awards at the Student Leadership Awards! We were pleased to receive the Virtual Vision Award this year. This award was created to recognize a club that took an event that is typically held in person and successfully transitioned it to a virtual format. We were fortunate enough to receive this award for our sixth annual escape room! Thank you to everyone who helped plan this event and to those who attended! #JWUPlayers

Today we are introducing none other than Kai! What year are you? I am a sophomore! Where are you from? I am from Naugatuck, CT Your character? I play Man 2 in the show, who portrays a fast-food worker, tech support worker, community organizer, mason, senior visiting nurse, and an intern. It is an interesting range of characters! The songs you sing? I sing Delivery, A Very Good Day, and (a part in) Millwork along with the full ensemble numbers Favorite moment in the show? (without spoiling the show) My favorite moment in the show is definitely Delivery. It’s a very upbeat song and a fun way to get the audience into the show! Why you want people to come see the show? I want people to come to see the show to help us recognize all of the unsung heroes in the American workforce. Hosting this Zoom Interview will be Cassandra Wakefield one of our student assistants! Working is a special show that tells the stories & struggles of twenty-six working-class Americans and is based on a collection of interviews done by author Studs Terkel in the 1970s. In a time where we are celebrating our unsung heroes, the JWU Players are thrilled to shine a light on the people whose stories are too often forgotten. After @jwuplayerspvd working with JWU administration and the Rhode Island health department, they are thrilled to announce their show will be presented in a hybrid manner on April 17th and 18th! Now students, staff, and faculty are able to watch the show in-person in Schneider Auditorium (located in the Xavier Academic Complex). If you are interested in seeing the show in-person, you can buy tickets through University Tickets, which can be found on the "News" tab of JWU Link. Please note that in-person tickets are only available to current students, staff, and faculty. We have also attached this link in our bio!
