Kidsgrove Athletic 1-2 Trafford FC The Autonet Stadium Att: TBC, est 200-250 Early kickoff at our Crewe groundhop allowed us to take the short trip to Kidsgrove to watch my ‘other’ childhood team Trafford FC try and secure safety in the NPL West. Great little set up for this level of football, I liked the raised hospitality stands! Seemed a friendly club. Despite playing the last 25 or so with 10 men Trafford held onto a 2-1 lead to guarantee their place in the NPL next season - away supporters in fine voice throughout and you could see how much it meant at the end. 👥 TEAM NEWS English Goalkeeper Jaydon Porter has signed for the club for a fee of £7.2 million from Fiorentina! Porter made 40 appearances for La Viola in 1 season after joining from Atalanta for £3 million. Jaydon came through the Liverpool academy but never got to make a first team appearance for the Reds before a double leg break looked to have ended his career. Athletic's latest: Lennon Cleavely is a Blue! 🔵 English defender Lennon Cleavley has joined the club for a fee of £2.5 million from Burnley! Lennon began his career in the academy of West Ham and played 23 games for the Hammers. He went on loan to Watford playing 81 times in 3 years, and Coventry, where he played 43 times in 2029. We are Team 5 of KAFC 34th👋 This weekend, we visited Jikjisa Temple in Gimcheon for a temple stay🪷 Upon arrival, we changed into comfortable temple clothes and enjoyed tours, evening chanting, and meditation according to the temple stay schedule. After dinner, we took a night stroll to the Tower of Peace under the temple🌙 On the second morning of the temple stay, we concluded our day after studying Korean Buddhism during tea time with the monks😌 This way, we were able to create new memories under the warm spring sunshine🌸 안녕하세요! 📝Match Report 🟢Keighley Athletic 1 - 1 Leeds City🔵 In what was anticipated to be a gruelling encounter against @leedscityfc, Athletic braced themselves for a challenging fixture. The blustery conditions, coupled with a pitch left untended for weeks, set the stage for a true battle. The earlier minutes of the match saw Athletic with a handful of opportunities to break the deadlock. Brad McDonnell found himself with a clear sight of goal, only to be denied by the Leeds City goalkeeper. Moments later, a well-directed header by Tom Snowden was cleared off the line by a Leeds City defender. However, against the flow of play, it was the visitors who scored the first goal with a swift counterattack to slot home and claim a 1-0 advantage. Just before the halftime whistle, Athletic found the back of the net. Ben Cox was brought down on the edge of the box, earning his side a crucial free-kick who then stepped up and drilled the set piece into the bottom corner, levelling the scoreline at 1-1. A change of shape shortly after the break saw numerous opportunities for Athletic. However, despite their efforts, luck simply wasn't on their side and they were unable to convert any of their chances. A middle three of Cox, James Wilson, and Matty Hardy allowed to us control possession of the game. And a strong back line along with Athletic keeper, Ricky Driver, also kept Leeds City from scoring another. In the end, it was a hard-fought encounter that saw both sides share the spoils. Despite Athletic's valiant efforts, they were left ruing their missed opportunities on a day where victory eluded them. 📝Match Report 🔵Throstle Nest Utd 1 - 3 Keighley Athletic🟢 Another away game saw Athletic come up against @throstlenestutd as we continue to keep the pressure on the league leaders. A lethargic start saw both teams have very few chances as we went in at half-time 0-0. After only 10 minutes into the second half, the hosts took the lead as a strike from the edge of the area hit the roof of the net despite the efforts of our goalkeeper, Jordan Fletcher. Athletic added fresh legs quickly after, allowing us to push for a goal which came with 10 minutes to go. Chris Wademan scored a penalty to draw us level after James Wilson was fouled in the area by Throstle. Then, as we pushed for a late winner, a great ball into the box caused problems which eventually dropped to midfielder, Jordan Busfield, who headed home inside the six-yard box putting us ahead 2-1. With less than 60 seconds till the final whistle, a long ball was played through to Wilson who was taken down in the box a second time, giving us a chance to wrap up the 3 points. 📝Match Report 🔴Yeadon Athletic 3 - 5 Keighley Athletic🟢 Athletic were finally back in action after 5 weeks of no games, where they faced @yeadonathletic away. A promising first half saw us leading 3-0, courtesy of goals from Ben Cox, James Wilson, and a stunning strike by Joe Snowden. The second half began positively with Wilson extending our lead to 4-0. However, Yeadon managed to pull one back with a header from a corner. Their second goal involved an injury to our keeper, Dayne Ward, and a quick first substitution was made by Athletic. Yeadon's third goal came from a questionable decision made by the referee where our replacement keeper 'allegedly' took the man before the ball inside his box and the awarded penalty was slotted away by the hosts. Nonetheless, Athletic remained composed, sealing the game with J.Snowden's second goal late on. Before watching the movie (Dune 2), we had an awards for the best team and best performing students. Based on priority criteria such as team member participation rate and proactiveness per event, the best team was Team 2. We are honored that our team was chosen the best team, and we would like to thank the KAFC alumni who awarded our team the best team. And this could be achieved because everyone took part in al lost every event and each of us passionately participated. We hope that everyone will have a happy and life worthy time as the 34th KAFC member during the remaining activities in the future. ✨Team 2✨ Daegu Modern History Museum & Yangnyeonsi Oriental Medicine Museum 03. 02. 2024 Hello, this is the 34th KAFC team 2! Before movie event(Dune 2), we had time to learn about modern history of Daegu but also history of development of oriental medicine in Daegu. After the 삼일절(Korean Independence Day) Ceremony, we visited the Yangnyeonsi Oriental Medicine Museum. There, we learned about how Daegu was developed as a center for oriental medicine distribution in Korea, oriental herbal medicine ingredients, and basic knowledge of Oriental medicine. For those of us who are only familiar with Western medicine, learning about Oriental medicine was a very meaningful moment. After that, we visited the Daegu Modern History Museum. Daegu Modern History Museum building was established as the Daegu branch of the Joseon Dynasty Bank during the Japanese colonial period. In this place, which is significant as a modern cultural heritage, we learned more about Daegu’s modern culture and history. Here, we got to know Daegu City more and the fact that Korea and the U.S. military have had a deep relationship since the founding of Daegu and the Republic of Korea. 💙Team 7💙 Today we went to Gyeongju! We looked around the historic sites from the Silla Dynasty and took lots of pictures. While walking to Cheomaeongdae, we played games and had some small talk☺️ And we took group photos in front of Cheomseongdae✌️📷 On Hwangridan-gil, we enjoyed 10-won bread and Hwangnam-Jjondeugi, and those were incredibly delicious. But suddenly, it started raining, so we went to a cafe. 💙Team 7💙 In the last week of December, we had a short meeting to deliver the Christmas gift of the US sponsor 🎁🧸🎀! It was a shame that we couldn't get all together 😢😢 We had our first meeting in January after a busy end of the year! Last Sunday, the seven teams toured Dongseong-ro which is downtown in Daegu together 💙🩵🤍 We had a fun experience making and eating tteokbokki and fried rice! 😆😆 It was a great time we could feel the charm of tteokbokki with ramen and fried food! 🍤🍜 We then went indoors and played laser survival games. 🔫 There were individual and team games, and Andrew won the individual games as the winner! 🥇 Later, We happened to be joined by Korean army assistants in a team game! After a fierce battle, Team Orange defeated Team Green! 🎊 After that, we went shopping on the streets in Dongseong-ro! 🛍🛒 It was a lot of fun! Last Sunday, we had a fun time ice skating together at Shincheon Skating Rink.⛸️ Although it was an outdoor rink, the weather was quite warm and added to the enjoyment of our gathering. After skating, we moved to a cafe to catch up on what we've been up to and to discuss our future activities. 🥟Team 6🥟 We had our last meeting in January at Korean sponsor's place. They invited us to share the up-coming national holiday, Seollal(Lunar New Year). We gathered around a table and made our own dumplings. Each of them had different shapes! It was a great time to show off our skills and creativity. We put those freshly wrapped dumplings in our Tteaokguk. For the side dish, Japchae and different kinds of Jeon were prepared. Those foods were made directly. 🍜 KAFC 34th Diary Part 2🎪 Hello, I’m in charge of promoting KAFC 34th! ☺️ In this KAFC 34th diary part 2, we share experiences of a delicious lunch and exploring the Korean Comedy Town! 🤗 After our strawberry picking adventure, we headed to the ‘Ni Gaso Da Jje’ restaurant for a tasty lunch. The place stood out with its use of Gyeongsang-do dialect on the sign, making it unique and amusing! 😆😁 The menu offered various dishes like jjamppong, jjamppong rice, tomato pasta, tomato cheese gratin, and pizza… 🍝🍕🍜 The delightful food made everyone feel satisfyingly full! 🤤 After our enjoyable lunch, we ventured into the Korean Comedy Town right across. Half of us engaged in making honeycomb candy on the 1st floor 🍭, while the rest explored the comedy exhibition on the 3rd floor! 🎪 Making honeycomb candy brought back memories of the squid game, and we shared funny stories related to it. With the help of the instructors, we successfully crafted delicious honeycomb candy! On the 3rd floor, we could see comedians and comedy videos that were popular in old Korea, providing a novel experience! The third place in the 1, 2, and 4 groups’ combined cultural exchange experience program is the Cheongdo Museum! 😁 The first activity started with folk games such as hook throwing and jegichagi. After practicing the Jegichagi first, we held a passionate Jegichagi contest and the team played a great match after their hard work! 🤩 After that, we had a precious time looking around the museum together, talking about Korean culture with the family members of the U.S. military and looking at relics such as earthenware Strawberry picking experience 🍓, Comedy Town 🎭, and Museum 🏛 ️ have successfully held their first event in 2024. It was a place where the performances and history of the comedians we enjoyed on TV as children were captured. 👻 First of all, I made it even more special, starting with the experience of making dalgona. I used the same sugar, but it was interesting because the sweetness was different depending on each person’s skill. ✨ Team 2 ✨ 🏛️ Cheongdo Museum 01. 13. 2024 🏛️ Hello, this is the 34th KAFC team 2! The third stop of the Cultural Exchange Experience Program of team 1, team 2, team 4 was Cheongdo Museum. Before visiting the Cheongdo Museum, a Jegichagi competition was held. We had a great time learning about Korean traditional culture through Jegichagi, a Korean folk game. At the Cheongdo Museum, Cheongdo’s archaeological relics, including comb pattern pottery, and Cheongdo‘s anthropological heritage, including Cheongdo Nongak, were on display. We had a more in-depth museum tour, talking in depth about the exhibits. The Cheongdo tour ended successfully with stops at the Strawberry Farm, Korea Comedy Museum, and Cheongdo Museum. Since everyone enjoyed a lot on the program, it became a more meaningful, and memorable day for everyone. ✨ Team 2 ✨ 🎭 Comedy Town 01. 13. 2024 🎭 Hello, this is the 34th KAFC team 2! The second location of the Cultural Exchange Experience Program of team 1, team 2, team 4 was Comedy Town :) Korea Comedy Town is said to have been opened to reexamine the 100 years of Korean comedy history and systematically preserve data on disappearing jokes, comics, musical dramas, and broadcast comedy. It is ‘the only comedy experience center in Korea’ where you can discover the genes of laughter flowing in the emotions of Korean people by experiencing comedy with all five senses, such as doing a one-man show, standing comedy and doing body gags. First, as soon as we entered, we experienced making dalgona as featured in the Netflix series ‘Squid Game’, which caused a huge sensation all around the world. It was a little difficult to heat the sugar and stir it until it was completely melt and to keep it from tasting burnt, but everyone had fun making dalgona. After making dalgona, we went to Comedy Town! While learning about the history of Korean comedy, we laughed together and have a venue for cultural exchange between Korea and the United States. We had a meaningful time of harmony as we encountered and experienced first-hand the coexistence of historical Korean comedy and present-day comedy that everyone, regardless of gender or age, could laugh and empathize with. One team, 같이 갑시다! 안녕하세요 34th KAFC team 2 입니다! 1, 2, 4조 연합 문화교류체험프로그램 행사의 두번째 장소는 코미디 타운 입니다 :) 한국코미디타운은 한국코미디 역사 100여년을 재조명하고 사라져가고 있는 재담, 만담, 악극 및 방송 코미디에 관한 자료를 체계적으로 보존하고자 개관되었다고 합니다. 직접 원맨쇼를 하고 몸 개그를 하는 등 코미디를 오감으로 체험함으로써 한국 사람들의 정서 속에 흐르는 웃음 유전자를 발견 할 수 있는 ‘대한민국 유일의 코미디 체험관’입니다. 먼저 들어가자마자 전세계에서 큰 신드롬을 일으켰던 넷플릭스 시리즈 ‘오징어게임’에서 나오는 달고나 만들기 체험을 했습니다. 설탕을 가열하면서 완전히 녹을 때까지 젓는 것, 탄 맛이 나지 않게 하는 것이 조금 어려웠지만 모두가 재밌게 달고나 만들기 체험을 했습니다. 달고나 만들기 체험을 한 후 코미디 타운 구경을 했습니다! 한국 코미디의 역사를 알아가면서 함께 웃으며 한미 문화 교류의 장을 가질 수 있었습니다. 남녀노소 모두가 웃고 공감할 수 있는 역사 속 한국 코미디와 현재의 코미디의 공존을 만나 직접 체험해보면서 모두가 화합할 수 있는 시간을 보냈습니다. 안녕하세요! KAFC 34기 1조입니다. 저희 조는 이번 모임에서 청도 박물관을 다녀왔어요! 박물관에 들어가기에 앞서, 한국의 민속 놀이인 제기차기와 투호 던지기 등을 즐겼는데요, 모두가 한껏 연습하는 모습이 정말 귀여웠달까요? 청도를 떠올리면 소싸움밖에 생각나질 않았는데, 청도가 새마을 운동의 발상지였음과 더불어 다양한 문화재도 있는, 역사적인 가치가 높은 곳이었음도 새롭게 깨달았어요! 예쁜 도자기들도 구경하고, 사물놀이 풍물패 피규어들도 구경하다 보니 갈 시간이 되었답니다 🥲 아쉬운 마음 뒤로 하고 단체 사진을 찍은 뒤, 다음 만남을 약속하며 헤어졌어요. 다음에 또 봐요 여러분 ☺️ Hello! We are Group 1 of the 34th KAFC. Our group visited the Cheongdo Museum during our recent gathering! Before entering the museum, we enjoyed traditional Korean folk games like jegichagi (kicking a shuttlecock) and tuho (pitch-pot throwing). Wasn't it adorable to see everyone practicing so earnestly? When we think of Cheongdo, the first thing that comes to mind is often bullfighting, but we discovered that Cheongdo is not only the birthplace of the Saemaul Undong (New Village Movement) but also a place with various cultural treasures and high historical value. We had the chance to admire beautiful pottery and explore various folk game percussion figures. As time flew by, we reluctantly left, taking a group photo and promising to meet again. KAFC 34기 1조입니다. 저희는 이번 모임에서 딸기🍓 체험을 다녀왔는데요, 여러 조가 함께 가는 딸기 체험이라니, 생각만 해도 기대되고 설레지 않으신가요!? 청도의 어느 딸기 농장까지 가는 동안, 새해 인사와 그간 어떤 삶을 보냈는지 나누는 시간도 가졌답니다. 조금 늦었지만, 여러분도 새해 복 많이 받으세요! 비닐하우스 안으로 들어가니 무척 덥더라고요. 두꺼운 옷을 입고 갔는데 땀이 조금씩💦 맺히는 게 느껴졌어요. 딸기는 허리 높이에, 참 길게도 줄지어 있었어요. 쪼그리고 앉아서 딸기를 따고 있는 우리의 모습이 귀엽더라고요. 입 안으로 들어가는 딸기가 너무 맛있어서 몽땅 가져가고 싶었어요 🥹 플라스틱 통에 가득 담은 딸기는 소중히 간직한 채 돌아왔답니다. 방에서 먹으려 했는데, 이날의 추억이 떠올라서 먹기 너무 아까운 것 있죠 😭 다음에도 또 가고싶은 건 저뿐인가요? Hello! We are Group 1 of the 34th KAFC. We recently had a strawberry🍓 experience during our gathering. Can you believe the excitement and anticipation of going strawberry picking together with other groups? While traveling to a strawberry farm in Cheongdo, we had a chance to share New Year's greetings and talk about the lives we've led so far. It's a bit late, but we wish you all a prosperous New Year! Entering the plastic greenhouse, it was unexpectedly hot. Despite wearing thick clothes, we could feel sweat forming💦. The strawberries were lined up at waist height, and our cute figures were squatting to pick them. The strawberries going into our mouths were so delicious that I wanted to take them all 🥹 We returned with plastic containers full of precious strawberries.
