Dean Malenko and Lance Storm were excellent technicians and its safe to say they are underrated workers. The two were above and beyond on the mat but they lacked the mic skills needed to sell themselves and it hurt them in the long run.Chris Benoit was also extremely gifted technically but his promo work was terrible.Benoit sounded horrible on the mic and its safe to say he suffered the same benefits amd drawbacks that Lance Storm and Dean were cursed and blessed with.Benoit managed to have a stronger career( still a bad person though)which isnt a bad thing because he got to have real classics with many legends and a big world title win ,but why didnt Lance and Dean get this spot light too?. I think Benoit's aura,intensity and look made him standout a lot more.Do you think Benoit was just better than both of them ? What made Benoit standout when compared to guys who were similar to him ? Katsuroyi Shibata is a no nonsense king who moves with little to no flash so whwn I say this man is extremely lightskinned I think im tripping too. Shibata wrestles handsome and its wierd because if you watch some of his Japanese matches you will see him rock a mans jaw and the camera will zoom in his face mewing.His male model nature leaks through his brutality which isnt even a bad thing I just think its so funny lmao. He can't avoid being smoldering and the way he follows through some of his strikes feels so magazine worthy.I watch Shibata matches and it feels like we ripped him from a different universe. I bet this man is very aware of how good looking he is so he leans into it constantly and pretends to move like he's not hot. Your thoughts?
My statement here is silly but the thought will never leave me.Hideo is a legend and his work in creating the Metal Gear series will always be one of the greatest things ever but at the same time a lot of his work is really odd. Hideo will give you this grand epic classic with various layers of depth to it but when you really go through whats happening within his work you don't really know whether you experienced something dumb,lowkey bad or excellent. Metal Gear is Iconic but the debate around whether Kojima is a geinus or not will always be up in the air because of how confused his narratives leave you. I was taking a walk thinking anout who else gives me this same impression and the only answer I could think of is Cody Rhodes. The rivalries with Shawn Spears,MJF,Malakai Black ,Roman Reigns, and even Anthony Agogo are some of the most over booked pieces of work I have ever experienced in modern pro wrestling and with the amount silly,bad and brillant things that happen in these I cant tell whether what I witnessed was the greatest thing ever or an oddball chimera of ideas that should have never been placed together in that manner.Both Hideo and Cody leave people asking the question of " Whats even going on anymore and why does this feel extremely important" and idk if thats a bad thing or a reason for why people should ses them as all timers .Thoughts?
I would call this promotion War Sport International and Im filling it with guys who have a near ridiculous dedication to being pure wrestlers. Guys who have excessive amounts of character but their gimmicks are based on being real and ground (even though they can actually be extremely dramatic) 1. Gunther will be my top heel because he's an experienced final boss and he has a habit of pushing babyfaces too their mental and physical limits so he's the best choice. 2. Higuchi will be the face of the company because he has all the aesthetics of an old school heavyweight Ace.His fighting spirit so he will be a great face against guys like Gunther (who will be his direct rival ) but at the same time he has the ability to be a stoic wall that forces baby faces to get better similar to Misawa or Ilja in his rivalry against Trick in NXT some way. 3. Claudio will be that main eventer that runs the midcard for the most part.He's a tag specialist and has a habit of carrying people to their peaks. Claudio is a match of the night machine capable of raising the quality of bad cards and he you dont have to put him in dramatic big rivalries for his shine to come through.I also feel as if he would be a great highlight reel machine so the promotion will be trending at least once a month thanks to him. 4.Thatcher will be the reason for all my babyface injury angles.Everytime I need the card to slow down imma use him cause I think he's great at working matches that will entertain the crowd while allowing them to catch their breath from all the action that happened before his match. 5. Ilja could be my prized underdog.He's a near perfect babyface and he can run long rivalries with anyone. He would be great for opening pay per views and his matches will set the tone for an action packed night perfectly because of how good he is when it comes to energizing a crowd. Ilja can also give a very worth memorable short match and he doesnt an hour to cook so he's good for T.V. Thoughts?
Bryan Danielson matches make me realise how meaningless grappling is to a lot of the top stars in this sport. Danielson will force everyone he meets into a mat based war of attrition and that actually does a lot to expose how theres actually not a lot of wrestling in many peoples wrestling matches.A lot of wrestlers have their best matches ever when Danielson pulls them into the mud and it really goes to show how a lot of basic things are missing from certain wrestlers and how wrestling has deviated far from the its core.I dont expect everyone to be a Johnny Saint level technical genius and I do feel as if certain wrestlers tend to sell more grappling to me than I ever thought i needed from them. Guys like Shunji Kondo are really soild on the mat and they will make an effort in doing limb work and working holds throughout the match but there are a lot of times in where I watch his stuff and it feels as if the mat work wasnt as memorable compared to the highspots that end up coming in later on. People have tried to take it to the ground with a guy like the Miz but it always comes of as goofy by the very end of the experiment. The core of a lot of wrestlers isnt based in mat work and thats fine but an effort must be made to do this. I am not coach and please call me out for saying anything stupid here but I feel as if this short list of things should at least be considered in every match. 1. If the wrestlers involved arent that good at grappling then that stuff shouldnt over stay its welcome but enough of it should be there to make wrestling look like wrestling. 2. It should mean something in the grand scheme of the match. 3.It should be considering when trying to create that connective tissue between big spots and sequences. Roman,Ospreay and HHH didnt have to be on par with Danielson to trade grapples with him but those parts of the match did a lot in establishing their dynamics without relaying on doing anything big to get the message across.

With the weather slowly improving and the on road racing season starting to kick off, it’s time to work on the gear for the upcoming m chassis racing for the Iconic events. I haven’t run m chassis touring for quite some time so there’s a little bit of updating needed on current race setups on my behalf. Things to note are: 1). Regulatory motor has now switched to the Core RC 15 turn brushed motor. 2). Tyres - not quite sure what works at the moment so I’ve got a selection to test out. In particular, Team Powers/Sweep/Kawada. 3). Never used tyre warmers before, but I noticed when I was practicing with the touring cars in Hong Kong, the cars were struggling for grip in the opening few laps but were on point afterwards which I’m assuming was down to tyre temps. 4). Bodyshell - going for the classic mini body purely because it is quite affordable and I know I’m going to trash the shell with my questionable racing. If there are any seasoned m chassis racers that have any hints or tips - please do share. Bret Hart vs Steve Austin Wrestlemania 13 is one of the greatest matches of time in the eyes of many. I loved the match too when i saw it and i think its definately worth all the hype but there is one thing thats on my mind when i revisit this match. I thought the whole idea behind this match was Austin was at a disadvantage due to this being a submission match and Austin was going against the best technician in the company. This story is perfectly fine but honestly speaking Stone Cold didnt lose a technical wrestling match. Austin lost a fight lmao.The whole match was a brawl for the most part ( which should be Austin's element) but Bret was the one who came out on top with Steve being left in a pool on the mat after losing in his style of wrestling.Those two did not go hold for hold in that match for the most part and the whole thing was most just hands plus chaos which should be the best situation for Stone Cold but he still lost in a match that seemed to be paced according to his strength. Now to be fair Bret Hart is actually really good at brawling and his reputation for being a technician overshadows his ability to swim i the mud with others but overrall Austin got cooked at his own game.Your thoughts?

Honestly its crazy seeing Kevin Scampoli getting buzz in 2024 lmao. He used to have a show with Forrest Sowa named the Whole F'n Show and it was funny when i was 12 but i stopped watching it cause a lotta the edgy stuff they were saying felt forced and it wasn't fun anymore.It started sounding like genuine hate instead of dark humour and I stopped watching it after a few months. The Whole F'n Show was probably the reason why Sammy Guevara said that really edgy thing about Mercedes Mone .Sammy was on that show and he was probably peer pressured into trying to impress Kevin and his viewers. Idk when but Sowa and Kevin broke up and split their ways. Sowa had a rather great solo essays channel that inspired a lot of the smaller Puro/indy channels you see on youtube today. Sowa hated Kevin for all this edgy stuff and it sucks to see how after all these years Kevin hasn't changed. Its wild to me cause I watched that show when I was in the 7th grade and now im in University and this guy is still using this dated format for clicks. He has such a positive view on things and you could tell he really loves all this. He really goes in on the Pro Wres Mixtape show he's been booking and this really has me hyped. He explains his thought processes within booking this and you can tell a lot of love is going into this . He builds to his match with Higuchi, he talks about the big Ilave showcase thats going to happen on that show and he also gives these sweet shoutouts to wrestlers who have really impressed him lately. Chris is awesome . I hope i get to watch the full show too but yeah lets check this one out. Must watch!
I honestly fail to understand what this was supposed to do. The footage has overshadowed the entire card and thats a problem because every other story being built on this episode isn't getting the shine it deserves. FTR and The Young Bucks have two classics and a really solid third match. Building the fourth with this at the center of all of it is dumb honestly. I am all for adding an element of reality to a storyline to really build tension but I fail to see what this was supposed to do for the episode .The only defense i see for this is " this proves that Punk is the bad guy" which is common knowledge and was clear from the jump and " Punk is a bad at fighting haha and Jungle Boy was jumped" which doesnt really give any valid reason for why this was aired and we all know that Punk isn't a great fighter. I hate how this is what Chris Hero finna go viral for instead of the whole Pro Wres Mixtape thing which might actually be one of coolest things that will happen in wrestling this year.The biggest pop of the night was Jack Perry getting punched in the face and AEW placed Punk at the side of the babyfaces we were supposed to cheer for. Sadly no ones going to be talking about Adam Copeland vs Penta (which was really cool) because of how this stuff right here took over any productive conversation. The idea behind Punk being a fraud and a liar always confuses. The pipebomb inspired whole movements and it was clearly from the heart but that promo was apart of an angle at the end of the day. Punk is never really a hero in any situation and this is present in his character on screen plus the real life knowledge we have about him. Idk how we built this image of a revolutionary in our heads when clearly Punk stands on whatever idea he has at the moment instead of actually standing for something real. I think him joining AEW was actually another sign of him really just caring about the money instead of actually trying to seek the a better pro wrestling world. If Punk stayed and aided AEW in completely changing and dethroning the WWE product then that would have solved the strangle hold WWE has on wrestling but It wasn't going to fix wrestling. I have said this before many times and my take on this is not unique butte value of CM Punks in ring work has never been within the atheletic or aesthetic quality of his moves. Punk has always been okay to good in that department and it was never drawing point.Punk matches are great because his psychologies great, he understands structure at a high degree, his matches always have weight to them and the man is a master builder that knows how to spin the things he studies, borrows or steals.I don't see anyone arguing against that or trying to tear into that take , I just see people bring up the botches he had during injury as a case against his work. I think fans should be more focused on the quality of the work being pushed out instead of caring about the financial metrics that have nothing to really do with us. Drew McIntyre is doing excellent heel work in my eyes and I fail to hate him because at no point and time has it ever felt like he doesn't have a point. Drew is so productive to me and he seems to always be on the right side of the arguement. Seth Rollin's has constantly complained about injuries weighing upon him and Drew's been active in stepping up and trying to take his place as the healthier wrestler capable of carrying the title. CM Punk is seen as a parasite backstage so Drew takes matters into his own hands and puts him away for the greater good. Drew pulled through and told Cody to go finish the story which might have worked cause he went ahead with that right on the WWE event after that RAW episode. He made a compelling case and even though he wasn't a major determining factor he still came through and tried to cut through Seth vs Cody 4 being a reality. Drew was the guy who actually placed effort into holding Sami and Jey accountable for ruining countless Roman Reign' matches and finally after being called a constant complainer that stays in the pasts without pushing for the future he picked himself up and started scheming his way forward. I don't see a single match or promo against him that makes any valid points about his recent deeds. Drew is really about his motion lmao. He's trying to push his momentum and the company too.I can't believe the WWE wanted me to believe him using a chop block to target an established injury was some type of heelish act of horrible sportsmanship against Sami Zayn.I don't see that as a heel act because its a common tactic in wrestling matches. This isn't even a Griffith,Thano's, Pain or Ozymandias did nothing wrong case. Drew is actually coming out here to cause movement and he's been effective at it.Thoughts?

Rush vs Drew McIntyre would be awesome and think it would be the biggest blessing if it ended up somehow being a longer more brutal version of Oney Lorcan vs Drew from NXT years ago. I want the match because I want to see a simple stiff hard hitting match up but as someone who wants to be a booker,producer. promoter and etc I fear certain logistics. The best version of Rush involves him being a destructive bull that beats the tar out of you and no sells most of your offense. The best version of McIntyre manhandles you and absorbs punishment like its nothing. Drew is a lot more willing to sell and give his smaller opponents something to work with and theres obviously a version of this match that does work without McIntyre looking weak since Rush plays very dirty. Rush can get all his stuff in via fighting dirty while McIntyre saves face since Rush keeps taking unfair advantages. Two high level professionals would obviously have the ability to structure a great match but I really fear a situation in where the match doesn't work because of how both their styles at their very best require them to be dominant. Do we get spots like the belly to back suplex to the floor from Rush or McIntyre chaining together different bombs with his Alabama Slam? This match can definately happen with less complications if Drew is in the face role but it won't have the same brutality. Face Drew has had hard hitting matches but the ones I can think off of the top are against guys of a similar size or the Oney Lorcan one but thst was six minutes and Drew was taking punishment but he wasn't getting man handled like what usually happens against Rush. Rush doesn't always have beat down heavy matches but the best ones to me involve him really trying to turn you into grass.Maybe an injury or something for Rush to target could make this easier . I think you guys would have better answers to this. What would be the best way of having a Drew vs Rush match ?I don't have a real answer.

You can hate Seth from whsts he's displayed for his past career affecting botches, his fed riding tendencies and his flashes of arrogance towards Will Ospreay and his active disregard for his more humble up bringings. Seth hasn't been the best guy in the public eye but as a wrestler he's been great for years. WWE was producing some of the worst wrestling ever throughout the 2010s and in those periods Seth was always the one diamond trying to shine through the thickest layer of filth in televised pro wrestling history. I don't think his catalogue compares to a prime AJ Styles and Its clear that Ospreay has gained more ground in terms of quality performances but I really haven't seen any critique on Rollins in ring work that isn't borderline bad faith. The matches he had in Ring Of Honor against Davey Richards and Austin Aries are classics to most of this fandom with a common group of people seeing the Richards match as on of the best in ROH history(which is a subjective take at the end of the day but still).Now your ability to do cool things in ring shouldn't be an indicator of your overrall quality but are we really gonna call Seth Rollins bad with all the crazy things we have seen him do throughout the years. He's ability to pull out a variety of knee strikes from any position in the ring, him busting out crazy bomb combinations like his superplex +Falcon Arrow combo and the distance plus flash he has from the top rope is crazy.Current Rollins is consistent and pumps out quality competitive showcases of good wrestling but his matches keep hitting a ceiling that he fails to break through often. The quality is there but all his matches lack the special qualities that take performances to the classic ranges. He's good right now but he isn't doing anything special. He's matches don't have the ambition or an unique qualities that take any of the technical or narrative parts of it over the moon. Seth has classics and we would be lying if we said he doesn't but his current stuff is too safe and his current gimmick feels forced and fake crazy. Critiques are there but to act as if this man has been horrible the whole time without an actual case for it is bores me.
