Another day another bad off the shelf tune. This car had been to another tuner with a dyno sometime ago only to go back complaining that the vehicle didn’t drive quite right. Instead of being offered help or even being taken seriously he was met with the typical “it isn’t what we’ve done” kind of response. We initially took the map off the car for the customer and restored it to normal to ensure it was driving just right. Sometimes later the customer has come back to us to put on a tested dyno developed map. Not the kind of thing where we claim “dyno proven” but actually tested on the dyno in front of the customer. We’ve been doing this long enough to know sometimes a calibration needs a little more work which is why we don’t turn away customers that think there is an issue, we offer help and assistance. Having been tuning since we called it "chiptuning" I have a collection of old stuff and my old friend my RS UV eraser has died RIP. Luckily I have a backup to enable me to tune a Lucas 14CUX ECU for a Rover V8. What's the difference between us and the other local "tuners" well we do have an electronics lab which comprises of more than some slave tool. Yes its a mess, I could tidy it but it would be a mess again in a couple of weeks lol. Golf R in for a custom Llandow Tuning remap. Yes it’s a White GOLF R, yes every other Golf R or GTI seems to be White. I’ve done so many of them we have bags and bags of pictures of what all look like basically the same car. We had a comment from #y200_chr saying we’d posted his car back at the start of 2023 saying we’d done a custom map on his car when he’d been in for a dyno power run and wanted the photos removed (despite not showing his plate). Whilst I cannot find the original photo I used (the plates were blanked) I have found the photos of the car the post was about which I've now reposted. Mistakes happen. The article was right and we used the wrong golf R pictures. For any distress caused I can only apologise. On to the right car: What did our custom map do? 300HP to 380HP. What did the #y200_chr Gold R do? It made a stock 300HP Whether its an EA113 or EA888 we’re happy to help. But a word of warning. If you come to the dyno cell for a power run or a remap, we MIGHT post a picture of it with you reg plates hidden. If you don’t want it shown online, then jog on to someone else.
