Today was emotional for me:: One of the last memories I have with my mother was her giving me a sip of her coke at my 4th birthday party. I remember the surgery bubbles hitting my tongue and bouncing in my belly. I remember the warm smile she gave me. Remember her love. Her warmth. I don’t know what whispered, “Remember this moment...” to the 4 year old me. In that moment I didn’t know a thing called death existed. I thought we would have moments like this forever. But thank God I did remember, because she wasn’t allowed to see me grow up. She wasn’t allowed to see me turn 30 in a few days. I hope you feel the love that goes into these candles made in vintage coke can glasses. I hope the tears shed while making them don’t fall in and ruin them. I hope they bring you the same love and light that a coke brought me in that moment my mother shared hers with me. May they be the love that keeps giving well after the wax is gone and they’re washed and used as drinking glasses. May you one day, put the phone down and not capture a moment to post on Instagram.
