I read that 17” @fifteen52 Metrix wheels would work on ascents with a close tolerance. Apparently the Onyx has upgraded, slightly larger calipers preventing any 17” wheels from working. Rally Innovations Rally Light Bar Install 2019-2022 Subaru Ascent Rally Light Bar Since this is going on a 2023 Onyx I took it slow to figure out what mods would actually need to be done. 2023 has a more aggressive front end than 2022 and the Onyx trim has a different grill style, who knew what I was getting into. The lower brackets were easy to install. I cut the fog light splash shields in place just enough to take away the form of the plastic that was preventing it from sitting flush. I didn’t remove the pins adjacent to the wheels, just let it hang down instead. I did not have to modify the main splash shield as the instructions directed. The brackets that sit inside the grill were a facking bisch. I had the choice of removing the bumper or jimmyrigging a reach around wrench through the grill. Thank baby Jesus for my time in redneck boot camp in Michigan, because I jimmyrigged with wobblers and blue tape 😅. We got her done with the top bolts. The bottom bolts need a smaller setup to get where it needs too. I’ll get to it, yea yea. I had cut the right side of the grill with a fein tool, the bracket sat in a cross member space of the grill. The left side was barely clear. The bar itself bolted up like tying a shoe. Next up, getting those lights on and wires run. Prinsu Roof Rack Install 2019-2022 Model on a 2023 They couldn’t guarantee fit, I entered at my own risk 😈 @prinsuracks The roof rack assembly itself was straightforward. Getting to the bolts to remove the roof rails was moderately difficult. I said ‘oh wtf’ a lot, but that’s interior work for you. Washers were added to the spacers as they were not tall enough to prevent a lil’ cosmetic roof damage from the bracket 🥴 It fits like ‘00 jeans, tight and low. The sunroof cannot open but the rails are easy enough to remove.
