Holy smokes! There’s a new blog post out on The Many Sides of Mom! This hasn’t happened in some time ... but I’m jumping back in there. . The start of a new year is like the start of a new chapter in a book. I’m opening up my book and eagerly anticipating what this chapter has in store. Emily has loved getting the chance to see the turkeys in the mornings. My hubby has said that they have been out there every morning. Emily loves checking them out. . Oh the joys of living in the boonies. Lots of animals around for my little animal lover to watch.

Nothing like playing with Play Doh after school! . Emily loves Play Doh and she was excited about their new Kitchen Creation ... the candy delight play set. We have been making candy for her toys and she’s so happy. And I’m thrilled that playing with Play Doh still brings my little girl so much joy. . While Emily was waiting for a class/subject to start ... she decided to draw on her Math whiteboard. I was in the verge of scolding her ... knowing that tool was for school work and then she showed me what she drew. My heart melted. She drew Baymax ... from Big Hero 6. It made me smile.

Doing our at-home school work ... getting Emily even more prepared before school starts on Monday. . I have no idea how distance/virtual learning is going to look for us during her first trimester ... but I’m excited to try this with her. . New blog post out on Monday about why we decided to keep our kiddo home.

Breakfast is served! . Nothing like a complete breakfast of strawberries and blueberries, a @the_official_danimals smoothie, @littlebitessnacks chocolate chip muffins, and a glass of @motts apple juice! . What a great way to start your day! Emily is one lucky girl to get this breakfast. Enjoy kiddo!!!!

Yesterday we went for a family walk down to the lake. It was a beautiful day and Sydney was so excited to go for a swim in the lake. . And Emily loves taking her puppa for a walk and throwing the bumper for her. . During this crazy time, spending time outside with my family makes me so happy. . How was your weekend? It’s official! Glitter has found its way into our home. And it’s here to stay. To say that someone loves it is an understatement. . Thank goodness for @elmersproducts school glue for being so kid friendly. Emily had a blast making her “winter wonderland” glitter picture. Of course inspired by one of our fave Disney movies ... Frozen 2! . Anyone else’s kids love glitter????

We don’t have any fun at all ... do we? . A little dance party with Magic Bunny while I make lunch. She’s so cute. That smile and happy personality makes my whole day better.

The Easter Bunny brought Em something she’s wanted for a long time. A scooter! She was so excited. She scooted around the house until we got a chance to get out yesterday. . We have a gravel driveway so it’s not very good for Em to ride her bike or her new scooter. And since we live on a main road, we took a walk/scoot down to the closest side road. . It was good to get out and take a walk. But by the time we got to a good place to scoot, Em was tired. Oh well. We’ll try again another time.

One of the projects Em’s teacher gave her today was to make a 12 collage. . The kids had to go through magazines or newspapers and find the number 12. Whether it’s 12s or 1s and 2s. They had to cut them out and make a collage with them. . Em loved looking through Hubby’s old boating magazines to find the numbers. She did a great job at cutting them out and pasting them to the paper. And when we couldn’t find a large 12, we made one on construction paper. I drew it and she cut it out. . What are your kids doing for school today? Any fun projects? Hope you guys are doing well and staying safe and healthy.

It was 60 degrees here in Little Rhody today. So my outdoors loving family had to go outside. Emily was pumped to be able to go on her swing set. Sydney even joined us for the occasion. . Who do think had more fun? Syd or Em??? . Oh and we found this cool rock/piece of quartz in the driveway. Emily looked up and said “Mommy, I found gold!” I’m thinking it’s fool’s gold. But let’s ask an expert. . @goldrushparker ... do we have real gold on our hands????

Emily got this awesome guitar from my aunt and cousin. She’s in love with it. Future singer-songwriter-musician??? Maybe.

It’s official ... we have the best bunny in the whole world. She’s so tolerant of her crazy 5 year old owner. And Em loves her “bunny snuggles”. We love you Judy Hopps!!! How did we get so lucky to have such a cool bunny??? . ➡️ swipe to see the love between Em and Judy.

My view for the start of my day. Coffee in one of my favorite mugs, my computer, and the puzzle I’ve been obsessing over. . Em is getting ready and then it’s time to start homeschool day 2. Let’s see what today brings us. . Let’s hope my coffee is strong enough to get me through today.

Emily and I made chocolate chip cookies yesterday with mini @nestletollhouse chocolate chips. I’m convinced the mini chips make the best cookies. You get a little chocolate in every bite. . And how cute is Em in her little “Emily” apron??? Thanks Nana for the adorable apron.

Per suggestion of Em’s teacher, we did a letter hunt. It’s keeping her occupied during this quarantine/social distancing/isolation. It was super fun and educational. It’s a great idea to do with preschool/pre-k kids. . What are you doing to keep your kids preoccupied during this time?

There are so many fantastic places to visit in the small state of Rhode Island. So many! It’s incredible. . But one of our favorite places is Wright’s Dairy Farm and Bakery (@wrightsbakeryri) home of the best ice cream place The Wright Scoop (@thewrightscoopri). And this past weekend we had the chance to go visit Wright’s. . We of course indulge in some delicious desserts. But what trip to Wright’s would be complete without visit the “baby cows”. Emily loves going to visit the cows and moo-ing with them. . And we even saw a rogue chicken. I was so surprised to see it running around. . Gotta love it! We love Wright’s!!!

This song is life!!!! So many people will be able to relate to this song. @ddlovato thank you so much for having the strength to release this amazing song. I absolutely love it. . I can’t wait to play the clean version for Emily. She’ll freak out about the new Demi song. [She’s the biggest Demi fan!!!!]

The life of a mom of a picky eater! . There are certain things that they serve at Em’s school that she just won’t eat. Now some parents might say to just make them eat what is served. If they’re hungry they’ll eat. Well what you don’t know about Emily ... she’s not like that. If she doesn’t like something, she won’t eat it. Even if she’s hungry. True story!!! . So a few days a week, I pack a lunch for my picky girl. Today she gets a peanut butter sandwich. She’s got her @disneyfrozen water bottle and @disneylittlemermaid lunch box. Star shaped sandwich with our favorite peanut butter made by @jifbrand. . This plus a couple snacks (@goldfishsmiles and @motts not pictured) make a great lunch for my kiddo. It makes me happy to know that she has a lunch that she loves and will enjoy eating. . Do you have a picky eater at home? How do you deal with that?

My little girl and our favorite mermaid! . Emily loves meeting Ariel in princess form AND mermaid form. It’s always so special to meet her as mermaid Ariel. I’m so glad that Disney does this. It’s so wonderful. . ➡️ swipe to see pictures of Em with Ariel 🧜‍♀️

Finally downloaded all of our @disneyphotopass pictures from our recent Disney trip. One of our first meet and greets was with these two ... two of Em’s favorites. . We thought it would be just Jasmine ... but then Aladdin was with her! Woo hoo! Aladdin is one of Em’s favorite princes. She was excited to meet him. . And she met him all by herself. (Okay I told her I would get in the pic with them ... but I didn’t). She even gave him a hug. . I love that she is getting braver with the characters. She’s becoming such a big girl. So proud of you Em!

Well our plans changed today. We were bummed not be heading to NH, but we took advantage of a local playground. . 50 degrees and sunny, even in the winter, equals playing outside. And we were so happy to do so. . Emily looooooooooves being outside. She’s an outdoorsy kid. Running. Swinging. Slides. Playing. Anything outside. She loves it. . And as a mom I was so happy to make my little girl so happy and get her out of the house. We can’t wait for spring!!! . What are you looking forward to the most in the upcoming season????

When your friend gives you a book of googly eyes pet coloring pages ... you rip them out and make masks. Duh! Lol. . I love seeing how my little girl’s mind works. Using the colors in different ways. Making her own patterns. Keep doing you my little artsy girl.

Emily plays Connect Four at school, so I was happy to break our Patriots edition of the game so we could play. We had a great time. She beat me. Fair and square.

There is nothing like seeing my girl smile when she is with characters in Walt Disney World. Nothing! She’s so happy. I wasn’t feeling so happy as we walked into dinner last night, but seeing Em with Eeyore and the other Pooh characters completely changed my mood. I love to see her smile.

We love all of the Coco stuff in the Mexico Pavillion in the World Showcase. Emily loooooooooves Coco. It was on daily for a while. And one of Em’s favorite parts of the movie ... DANTÈ!!! We love him. (We say that our pup Hannah is the female real-life version of him.)

I love the Tangled (Rapunzel) theming in this part of Magic Kingdom. Yes it may be a bathroom area, but the theming is so well done. We love Rapunzel so I’m so glad that she’s represented.
