Our little herd can now choose to be out in their field or seek the shade of their barn as they please, 24/7. This is the best time of the year, and they can just enjoy being horses. 🐎🐎🐎🐎 Unfortunately we just do not have enough land to leave them out year round. We have to close off the fields around October/November so the grass and soil can recover for next year‘s grass season. This is what Merlin currently looks like (dirtwise 😄) It’s not too bad considering we are getting rain quite regularly and they have 24/7 access to their winter field. I remember times he used to be caked in a thick layer of mud every time you got him in for riding 😂 - fun times.
