2020v, a crazy song and a goddamned brute of a year. An unrelenting beast, bringer of pestilence and desperation, it made us lucky ones not hooked to a ventilator find ourselves fkd in the most inarticulate sense of the word. Back then, it felt like the cosmos had slapped us all with a universal sentence, a "you're all going down, whether you like it or not" kind of a deal. Innocent or guilty didn't matter, we all got the boot, and it was a hell of a monkey wrench on our collective machinations. For us, it was like a jab at our guts that doomed the release of our first album and all its collateral splendor. I remember, in that haze, I started working on this song, in and out of the abyss of depression. I guess that’s the reason for those peaks of euphoria plummeting into valleys of despair. I doubted we'd ever play it on stage since it’s so physically taxing, and it requires different gear and a particular headspace to be successfully executed. But hell, we ended up strumming it almost every night on our last tour and I loved every minute of it, the joke's on me, I guess.
