I don’t write a lot of reviews but the experience I had today called for the absolute BEST review. First of all the small details within the salon really made it feel like a luxury experience. Massage chairs at the hair washing station, a sink that DID NOT hurt my neck and was actually super comfy (what?!), and a foot stool to rest your legs while having your hair washed! Everyone working there was so super sweet! I really felt like I walked into a high end spa for a haircut. Second, as someone who does a lot of alternative style haircuts I have never once walked into a salon, showed the stylist a picture, and walked out with exactly what the picture was that I wanted, but Liz literally did exactly that. She matched the picture I showed her PERFECTLY. I absolutely adore my haircut and could have cried ***happy*** tears seeing it finished because I felt THAT good. I could not wait to rush home and take pictures to show off to everyone (who also LOVED it). Third, Liz is literally the most amazing person. Usually I feel awkward making small talk with hairdressers but I seriously felt like I was talking to a friend I had known for years while she was cutting my hair. She is a freaking VIBE! hi babes! 🌿 • its been a while since i’ve made an introduction so i wanted to take a second to introduce myself to all of my new friends! 👋🏻 • my name is liz. 🌻 i’m a graduate from summit salon academy in anderson, in. 😁 after school, i became a full time stylist at salon twelve:seven, also in anderson. • i live in fortville with my husband, chris and our two fur boys, ruxpin and waffles. i love disney, dogs, eyebrows, anything beauty related, people that make me laugh and fall weather. • our pups: ruxpin is a liver/chocolate toy schnauzer. he’s an anxious, hyper little thing with a heart of gold and is VERY toy/food driven. ruxpin is my little best friend. he’s truly my spirit animal. 🤣 waffles, a white mini schnauzer, is the goofiest dog i have ever met. he’s so gentle and laid back. he brings so much silliness to our home! our boys are total opposites but i think that’s why they get along so well and love each other so much. i couldn’t imagine our lives without them. 💖 • i LOVE where we live. i love fortville. 💖fortville is an up and coming area. there is SO much to do here but it stills has that small town feel. walking around downtown and stopping to get ice cream at libby’s is one of my favorite things. side note: come check out the 4th of july celebration that the town puts on. hands down, the BEST fireworks show that i have ever seen. • chris, my husband, is well, THE best. he works for an environmental company in indianapolis. we met on an online dating site where he swept me off of my feet with the funniest opening line (message), i had ever received. he IS the reason i was able to quit my full time job and go to cosmetology school full time to follow my dream. i say it all the time, but i don’t know how i got so dang lucky. he’s my biggest cheerleader and supporter. he’s my everything and the man i will continue to choose, every single day of my life. • seriously, HOW IS THIS MY LIFE!? 😍 • thank you for all of the follows, comments and all of your support! 😍 i look forward to continuing to share my journey with you all. • peace, love & good hair days! ✌🏻💖 📷 @willow.and.lace_

2021 ended with a bang💥 i’ll be saving this under “one of the most validating, incredible & PROUD moments” of my life. my color company, jack winn pro, whom i’ve been with since i started working as a licensed cosmetologist, ranked me in their top ten of 2021! I GOT #4! WHAT!? i’m still completely shook and in awe. 🤯 i never in my wildest dreams thought that i would have a career that i absolutely love. truly. i didn’t even think it was on the radar. but now, here i am, a year and a half in and i still feel like i’m living a dream! opening up my instagram and seeing this post on new year’s eve brought everything full circle. well friends, it’s hot and humid here in indiana, so summer has officially arrived! ☀️ • summertime is all about spending care-free days outdoors enjoying the warm weather. [i’m more of an “indoorsey” person myself though! 😉🤣] heat and humidity can wreak havoc on your hair. as well as spending a lot of time lounging in a pool! that’s why adopting a summer hair care routine is so important to the health of your strands. so here are a few tips to keep your locks happy, healthy & protected during the summer months! • conditioning is key! our hair gets just as thirsty in the hot summertime as you do. so why not treat it to a little moisture-rich refreshment? switching your shampoo and conditioner to moisturizing formulas [QUENCH 1 & 2 by @jackwinnpro are my faves!] and using hair oils or a serum on the ends will help restore parched locks. for added treatment, conditioning masks and live-in conditioners will give a deeper level of moisture. • wash less often! as the days get hotter and the conditions get sweatier, it’s tempting to wash your hair every day. I GET IT! 😉 however, by doing just that, you are stripping your scalp and hair of much needed natural oils… and nobody wants that. extend the time between shampoos by using a dry shampoo! a good dry shampoo will absorb grease and give your hair body and texture at the same time. need a dry shampoo suggestion? hit me up! • protect your color! you love your color and your color loves you. what neither of you will love is what the damaging, fading effects the sun can do to your color. if your hair is colored, cover your hair as much as possible when out in the sun! think a cute hat or a pretty scarf! also, make sure you use hair care products that are specifically formulated with color-protecting ingredients. they will protect your hair from the sun’s damaging effect and help keep it from fading. AND when you use those products, always rinse with cool water. giving your hair a quick cool water blast will help close that hair cuticle back down, which will in turn help your color look more vibrant and true to tone even longer! • i hope you found these tips helpful! have a great weekend, babes! 💖✌🏻
