. Colour epitomises memory; Dark, bright, heavy, light, cold and warm. People like rainbows because it is scarce. Beyond that, it is our fortitude. There are moments of misery and vulnerability, we find ourselves broken. But they hold us. There are memories that may not be desirable, yet impactful, our growth accelerator. Two years ago, I went to the U.S. and one year ago I went to the U.K. and backpacked in Europe. I learnt that I have adventurer spirit in my blood and I am bolder than I thought I am. These memories and experiences have made me who I am. If it weren’t the unpleasant memories, I wouldn’t have cherished the mirthful ones as much as I would. Perhaps one may say memory is bittersweet, intertwined with highlights and drawbacks. One year ago today was the end of my Europe journey. . 6 months ago, in Los Angeles. I decided to run along the coast to Mumbles when I study in Swansea. After months of procrastination, I did it, three days before leaving though. Although this run is different from the previous run in Santa Monica (in terms of nature), they both represent some parts of me. . It has been an amazing journey full of unexpectedness. There were moments of gratefulness, resentment, excitement, sentiment... ... . I’ll never forget my first day in Swansea. It was a snowy and rainy night. After checking in at the residential reception, I started to move to my dormitory, carrying the two suitcases and backpacks. Since it was raining and the luggage was really heavy, I was slow like an ant. I knew that there was a shortcut, so I planned to use it. But it was actually closed. Coincidently, thankfully, there were two girls driving their car to the reception to pick up the parcel. They saw me having troubles with the luggage, so they were very generous and kind to drive me to the dormitory. They even helped me carry the super heavy luggage to the third floor, as there is no elevator in my flat. I was really thankful for their help. Also, it would have been a complete chaos if I took that shortcut. It is the first event that happened in Swansea, which is really touching. . I thought that I was very lucky as I encountered the two girls AND it snowed in Swansea. People say Swansea rarely snows. But I witnessed it! It seems to be a pretty good start! . But then the troubles came. From wrong immigration stamp to wrong bookings, studies being suspended, almost kicked out from accommodation, troubles with laundry, problems opening bank account... ...

. This trip is definitely an unforgettable one. This trip also proofs I’m a WONDER. Bad things have been happening very frequently. But I got help every time. Yes, these are unlucky incidents; I am unlucky. Bad luck has been with me since I was in the United State. I am never fortunate, but I’m blessed. Honestly, my faith flinched. But I believe there is no such thing as completely hopeless. . In this trip to Iceland, I have learnt money is everything. It can solve everything. Yes, it is pragmatic, but it’s reality, perhaps cruelty. My flight back to London was cancelled due to airline company bankruptcy. There is no any other flight today. So the only solution is to buy a new flight ticket and get back to London tomorrow. It’s expensive, but it does bring me comfort - having things settled down. . Money is important, but it’s not everything - it can not bring love and care. . Now, I’m staying at the airport with a Hong Kong couple who live in the U.S. I’m not alone. It’s a blessing in disguise. We suffer the same. But it’s good to have company. We stayed together since we were told the flight was cancelled. When we move to another place, they would make sure I’m with them. I am very thankful that I met them. . In fact, after learning the flight has been cancelled, I freaked out and cried. I felt helpless. But I’m lucky that there was a cafe where I could use the tissue. I met another couple who also speaks Cantonese. I followed them and book the flight. Otherwise, I would not have known what to do. And thank you @moklamlamlam for helping me to book the ticket. It’s always good to have someone who has nth to do🙊 . This Iceland trip is definitely a tough one, from Airbnb to Golden circle, and the flight. The world wonders are really astonishing. But what touches me are the travel buddies @lamlamchan_f @jenny_twc @emmegn . From the deepest of my heart, thank you. And thanks to Lam, I met a new (male) friend @mogor123 (?). . I didn’t plan to stay one more day is because I don’t want to skip class. If I knew, I would have stayed in Iceland one more day. I’m skipping tomorrow’s classes anyways. . . Today is thanksgiving. I have to thank a person who made me stronger. In early October, I decided to do a running race at Santa Monica beach before I leave the U.S. The very first reason is simple: I love Santa Monica. Santa Monica has somehow become my second home, my backyard. Santa Monica beach is certainly my favorite place in Los Angeles. Ocean keeps me smile. The breeze from the ocean blows away the worries and annoyance. Geographically, there is convenient transport. I have a direct bus to get there and it does not take so long, relatively. Later, to let go of a person. There is a person who once brought me joy and laughter. I thought that person had lit up my life. But this person had also bought me sadness and disappointment. At first, I denied the hurts that that person made. But yes, now I have the courage to say that person treated me bad. That person has disappointed me. I trusted that person. But that person messed me up. Today is the “official deadline” that I have to let go of that person. The wound has been healed, but the scar will never be washed away. But I kept on doing it, every morning, at least one hour, until my legs could no longer bear it. So I ‘reluctantly’ stopped. Although I didn’t run the race today, I did ran from Venice beach to Annenberg Community Beach once. My determination will never waives. I will do a race in the U.S. someday. The best thing of running in early morning is that you can enjoy the fresh air, before the cars pollute it. You run when the sky is still dark, and see the sun rises; and warmth of the sunshine brings away the wind chill. This is a long post with grammatical mistakes.
