BAKERSFIELD: The City of Bakersfield is bringing back its fireworks show at the Park at River Walk. There will be no stage show this year in the amphitheater but you can go to River Walk to watch the fireworks display. The show is set to start at 9:15 p.m. BUTTONWILLOW: Buttonwillow Recreation and Parks District is presenting its 14th Annual Fireworks Show on Saturday, July 3rd at Buttonwillow Park. The event is free and the gates open at 6:30 p.m. The fireworks show is scheduled to begin at 9 p.m. The event is lawn seating, so bring lawn chairs or a blanket. Pre-show entertainment includes a cornhole tournament ($20 entry fee per team), music, small business vendors, BBQ, sno cones, cold drinks and lots of other good food! LAKE ISABELLA: Starting at 9:30 p.m. (approximately) Taking place at Engineer Point, Isabella Lake MCFARLAND: Will hold its' annual Fourth of July celebration on Saturday, July 3rd. The fireworks are set to go off starting at 9 p.m. You should be able to see the show from any of the parks in McFarland. The Recreation and Park District says that there will not be any vendors or activities - just fireworks. SHAFTER: The show is scheduled for Saturday, July 3. The evening will begin at 6 p.m., with the fireworks setting off at about 8:45 p.m. The show will take place at the Shafter Recreation Fields next to the high school football stadium. TAFT: Have fun at the Taft 4th of July Sunday Funday from 4:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. on July 4th. The event features bounce houses, games, sports, food and craft vendors, and music. Fireworks begin at 9 p.m. and are free to the community. The event will be taking place at Franklin Field in Taft. TEHACHAPI: Will be holding a fireworks show that same day as a part of their All-American Festival. That show begins at 9 p.m. at the Tehachapi Municipal Airport. Home inspections can play a big role in whether your homebuying (or selling) efforts are successful. Are you hoping to buy or sell a house soon? Here’s what you should know about how a home inspection might impact your goals. Inspections aren’t required- A home inspection is generally encouraged for buyers, but it’s not required. In a hot market, buyers might waive their right to an inspection to win a bidding war. But be careful: This could hurt you financially if you find yourself having to make large repairs and renovations. The results can influence your deal — and your price. If the inspector finds issues, the buyer will often want to renegotiate. They might ask the seller to make repairs before closing or offer a lower price point to account for them. If they have an inspection contingency, a buyer can even pull out of the deal without losing earnest money. You have to pay for an inspection. Home inspection costs vary by market and inspector, but they typically cost between $250 and $500 per property. Since the inspection is for the buyer’s benefit, they cover this cost out of pocket, usually as part of the closing costs. Sellers sometimes get pre-listing inspections.
