More details below 👇🏻 We had a week long tractor rental which was supposed to be $3000 (1100 for tractor, 1100 for breaker, delivery and taxes) but one breaker tip broke and when they came to replace it the hydraulic quick connect was broken on the replacement so they only ended up charging us the tractor fee ($1100) and for the broken breaker tip ($300). We should have gotten a bigger tractor. My husband spent 16 hours breaking up the pool, deck, and sidewalk over the week and if we had gotten a bigger tractor he would have been done in a day. Our first dump load we took to the regular city dump and that was a mistake! So expensive! After the first trailer load that was only half full to the regular dump, we heard about a cement recycling dump which was only $30 a load. We took 5 loads there for less than the first load. A lot of people will demo their existing pool into itself and burry it but we had so much cement we couldn’t do it. Also I didn’t love the idea of having all that under the ground in case we wanted to plant anything there later on. Who knows what kind of plans will pop into my head in the future. After a week of working on demo and things breaking and not being able to work when he wanted to, AJ was done. He had broken out all the decking, all the sidewalk, beat up the bottom extremely well for drainage, and caved in 1/4 of the side. we asked the pool company how much to finish the demo while they were here digging the new pool. $3500, worth it. They finished caving it in and buried it with the dirt from the new pool. There was extra dirt from that as well but we used it around the yard. Now we really didn’t save any money because we decided to buy a dump trailer for $14k. We spent the same amount but came out with a trailer that we use all the time. If you’ve ever had to take a bunch of loads to the dump you know the feeling when a guy backs up next to you and just tips his trailer up which your physically unloading it. With all the renovation projects we do, a dump trailer was a must. #pooldemo #newpool #poolcost #poolcostbreakdown #costbreakdown #pooldemolition #playpool #custompool #custompools

Bond beam officially cut down, now to back filling the pool and digging the new. All rock due to the houses location. Lots of hammering and slowly removing it all. #johndeere #backhoe #miniexcavator #jackhammer #dirtwork #pooldemo #pooldig #milwaukee

Phase 2 of this backyard renovation completed. Being there is a septic system nearby we used extreme caution while driving over underground pipes/tanks and having tight limited access to the backyard. Over 140 yards of fill was brought in one skid steer bucket at a time. Once the ground is dry we will start phase 3 by adding loam for the finish grade. #bluelinelandscapeconstruction #pooldemo

It’s nice to see a plan come together. Today we had the inspection completed on the pool demo. Inspector passed us with flying colors. So now to move on to the final process. Cutting the bond beam out and back filling the pool. #johndeere #stihl #demo #demolition #pooldemo #arizona

Official start on the pool demo/implosion today. Knocked out all of the pool deck. Hammer on the JD 17D made pretty quick work of it all. Tomorrow we will be focusing on creating water drainage holes in the floor of the pool so water will have a way out, as well as saw cutting the bond beam so those will be ready to go once it passes inspection. Then we can finish filling in the pool and start the dig for the new pool. #johndeere #jd17d #pooldemo #arizona #demolition
