Took a distant second place in my class today at the 3rd @bremerton.sports.carclub autocross event. @jqrz.adventures shark blue GT4 on A052 took 1st by a massive 2.5 seconds! (Mostly driver mod TBH) It was just a little too cold to get sufficient heat into my RE71RS, but I wasn't alone. Lots of spinouts and off course excursions despite it being dry weather. The popularity of Porsche’s early posters, which were created by Erich Strenger and Hanns Lohrer, grew with time. Today, their body of work for Porsche is increasingly appreciated as art. To Nicolas Hunziker, a contemporary poster artist, that’s no surprise. “When you look at the art deco posters of the 1930s or the early Porsche works from Lohrer and Strenger, it was done through the use of art,” he says. “Typically, the creators came out of the field of graphic design, illustration, or painting-pursuits that are generally considered to be visual arts. But the primary purpose was to communicate a message, hence the term ‘advertising art!” The posters were an indirect result of Ferry Porsche’s aversion to advertising. Between 1948 and 1950, he focused the company’s capital on development, exhibitions, and motorsports-leaving promotion to importers and dealers. What little advertising the factory did do typically presented a list of victories, technical details, or performance statistics. In the current digital age, it is easy to forget there was a time when printed posters provided carmakers with one of the best methods-sometimes the only method-to shape their image or highlight a race win. Modern advertising campaigns are less and less focused around printed material, as they must also make an impact in the digital realm. That’s had a marked effect on their execution. With the rare exceptions of specialized hand-drawn artwork created for specific events such as Rennsport Reunion, Porsche now produces very few new illustrated pieces-so it’s little wonder that poster collectors are beginning to look backwards rather than forwards. Still need to work out the pickup and some other details, but it happened to be close to where we were camping this weekend, so I guess it was meant to be. In case you couldn't tell in the last couple of days, I'm very ecstatic about how this car came out. All the big-ticket parts I dreamed about are finally on this car. Parts by @manthey_racing, @bbs.wheels @bbs_motorsport_official @bbs_japan_official, @jcr_porsche, @porsche.motorsport. Installed by one of the best shops out there that's been around forever, @supremepower. On one of my dream cars. The best brands and a no-nonsense approach to the process... I couldn't imagine anything less on my car. Almost 10 years ago I moved up from San Diego and all I had in my bedroom was a lamp and a Transformers blanket from when I was like five or six years old. I was sleeping on the carpet for three months. Then fast forward 10 or so years later to buy one of the last Miami Blue GT4s without the ADM and allocation nonsense that skyrocketed after the Covid lockdowns. With all the options that make the car (PCCB, LWBS, PDLS+, and most importantly a manual transmission). What also made me happy was that once the wing was installed it brought closure to the build. May do some things here and there in the future. But at this point I already have the things I dreamt about on this car. From what I learned these past few years, it's really not about the numbers or how fast the car is. Honestly there are way cheaper cars and even SUVs out there that will blow me out of the water stock or a mild tune. And obviously way more expensive cars out there with bigger recognition. But it doesn't really matter to me that much anymore. Post 2 of 3. Thank you to all those who attend my rally from Reading to the Cotswolds yesterday, taking in 60 miles of the finest driving roads in the area. The 35 cars started at Cobbs Farm Shop at Englefield near Reading, and first stopped at Leckhampstead Village Hall (that I had hired for our stopover), and then onto Mollie’s Motel & Diner Oxfordshire. After coffee and pastries, we moved onto The Classic Motor Hub’s new storage facility on the A40 near Burford, before arriving at The Classic Motor Hub’s main premises near Bibury, where we all enjoyed delicious food in the cafe before commencing our journeys home. Porsche 718 GT4 RS 982 In der Farbe azzurothetys Der GT4 RS ist das Topmodell der 718 Cayman Baureihe. Der 4,0 Liter 6 Zylinder Saugmotor mit 500 PS hat leichtes Spiel mit den 1415Kg Gewicht.
