The #drift E46 I bought to go drifting needed some minimal love to be ready to shred tires. The main concern was the rear end needed some love. All bushings were done. So I started the task to remove and replace all of that. I’ll be switching them to @tech53 stuff 🔥 amazing products, well developed and tested by many racers. If you car stay outside all day or if you wash engine bay, remove the engine cover and coilpack to dry everything. After a while the Coilpack tube will rust. Been quietly lately 💁 Long post … The begining of the season have been really tough and exhausting. Both physically and mentally. 😩 After the 1st event, that ended with a blown engine and a fire. Even after all the hard work prior to it. I took few days off to re-energize 🤓 I kicked my ass, decided that giving up was’nt an option; Bought a used engine, prepared it to be ready to test on june 24th, that was the goal to be fully ready for the next @spcseries race on july 8th @ctmpofficial with the @imsa_racing series! An event that will be amazing 🔥 But, installing the engine back in, there was a misallignement problem with the gearbox, I went under the car to allign everything and the engine and gearbox dropped. The result ; they dropped on one of my right hand finger and jammed it in a jackstand. I was stuck there. So, i have a badly broken finger, that after 12 days I still have’nt see the specialist that will decide if I need a surgery (finger can’t be fold). And a car without an engine in it. So, after all these efforts, sacrifices and compromises, my goal to do a complete @spcseries season is dead. I can’t express how hard mentally is it for me to take it. Be safe gang, I need to refocuss on why are we doing it ? So, after really hard work to make it here , here is a quick resume 💁 Showing up with a dying engine, expectation were’nt to high. Everything staying together for the friday practice. 🥳 Came saturday, pooring rain, absolutly no visibility . This was SO HARD to run the car in those condition; standing start, dog bog , lower power , RWD (first time for me) , this was really really hard . 1st race, a little touch on the start with another car made me lost a lot of position, climbed my way the best i could avoiding contact with all the other class cars without compromising their battles . Finished in one pieces. 2nd race ; still a lot of rain , better start, engine falling off , on the last lap, engine left the chat 😔🥲 The blow-by have shoot oil everywhere so car got in a little fire. No damage in first sight and i’m all good. A hard fought week end , but in the end i make it and prooved that never giving up can pay up! Plans became different quickly; car was stuck in a gear 😳 Yesterday i took the gearbox off, opened it , and found the problem! For those of you curious about my last post ; 1st: thanks to the photograph for these amazing shot 🤩 On my last flyer lap of Saturday, I lost the clutch / gearbox. I digged the problem on sunday, found out it was a clutch problem (because of outside influence and not the clutch itself) Amazing, I have the best partner @bullyclutchracing , i have a spare ready to rock 💥💥 After finishing the installation, i had a BIG surprise , look at the video (it’s in french yes) . Basically; I noticed that the engine was turning super freely , even with spark plugs on and everything 😳😳 I digged the issue. It happen that the engine is on its last miles ; 37% and 25% of leak on one bank! I probably run the engine like that since few events. 😅🥲🥲 After a lot of tought and reflexion, I’m doing everything i can to show up at the first race of @spcseries and give my best possible despite not being 100% , not even 80%. What a day 🔥 It was so good to be out there after all this hard work 🙏 We were out there runnning the Time attack event of #trackandtime . The car is in his @spcseries configuration, witch placed us is the TA-2 category at like 38% of the class. The goal was simple for the day, test the newly developed car. It was my first time in it, first time in a RWD 🥵 Men, i must say, WHAT A CAR!! 🔥 It’s amazing to drive, super predictive and the rear end is so planted!! 😍 Tested lot of line, combination to learn it toward the day . Did my PB on the second time out of the day, on my 6-7 laps in the car , a time of 50.7sec . To cap it all, I won the class for both round of the championship 🥳 Not a single bolt loosed, everything was good on the car . Even with a little 4 off in T1, a wild ride ahah 😅 Everything was perfect UNTIL it was’nt 😔 Last session, I lost the Gearbox/Clutch on my flyer. Will dig it real quick to see the problem… 🥲 Al in all an amazing day, was so good to hang with friend and turn lap !! Yesterday recap 🙏 Went to @precisionautocanada for our dyno for the @spcseries season! Prior to the day, I known that the car had a clutch release bearing problem and Eric told me to come over to tune the car even if it was going to be complicated. The car have a dog box so it was’nt a problem one it was started in 1st gear. 🫣 The day started rough with a problem , that we fixed after. Eric caught it on time and he probably saved the engine. 😳🙏 Was able to tune the car properly after that. Another coolant leak problem interupted our session, easy fix. So thanks to @precisionautocanada and Eric for their time, patience and amazing knowledge , we now have a tuned car that meet our goal for the SPC rulebook and we gathered a lot of really good info to start with ! 🔥 Without the precious help of people like this, our program would’nt be possible! Today was a good day 🔥 Went to see our amazing partner @lachuteperformance to let @turbosleeper work his magic on the car 🙏🙏 The objective was to convert the intercooler piping from the old set up and the air intake to suit our newly fitted engine. They also made a custom downpipe to fit the stock location turbo and connect to my side exhaust . With an incorporated wastegate recirculation! Dyno appointment in 2 weeks with our amazing partner @precisionautocanada 🙏 Yesterday, took the time to dress and prepare the engine; Working with a generator and no heat since power outage problem 💁 So, preparing the BIG Block for @spcseries ! Need a MAXIMUM of 300whp. Will run less than that to run the car lighter. (Power to weight class with spec tires and sizes) So this completly stock internals EJ207 2.0L is what we’re going to run! I have to chase down ; bmw, 370z , honda type-r , camaro, mustangs 🤘 What have been done ; ☑️ Engine Cleaning ☑️ Complete New OEM timing belt ☑️ New water pump with deleted heater and cooler port ☑️ New @iagperformance race baffle and pick up tube kit ☑️ New @iagperformance alternator relocation kit ☑️ New @officialngksparkplugs ☑️ New OEM JDM subaru cam sensor (really hard to get) , common problem of oil comming out from them. Men, I can tell you , the @iagperformance stuff is so good, fitment, precision , all small bits included, it’s litterally perfect! On top of that, it look good 💥so bad we are hidding half of these in the engine 😅 Things will moove fast for the next days, will try to post as much as possible!
