An ordinary hotel stay before a cruise? 🤔 Not for me, if I can have something special... 🤩😎 We've driven 2 hours through the desert on our own 😰 (on perfect roads) to reach this wonderful oasis. The Qasr al Sarab Hotel by Anantara. ⁠ ⁠ And I just wondered: how do you come up with the idea of building something like this in the middle of the desert? With a pool and fountains! Want a unique desert experience but don't like tents? 🤩 I found a happy, crazy place in the Rub' al Khali desert, Qasr al Sarab Resort by Anantara. It is in the middle of nowhere in the desert. With its oriental-style building, fountains and water basins (and a pool), it looks like an oasis from the story of 1001 nights.⁠ ⁠ But how do you get there? The hotel is a 2 hour drive from Abu Dhabi! My husband did some research (as he is responsible for organising transfers) and said to me: "We'll rent a car and drive by ourselves. 🤔 My first response was: "Are you crazy? We are arriving in Abu Dhabi on a late flight, literally in the middle of the night, and you are seriously considering driving out into the desert on your own? 😨⁠ ⁠ What convinced us were other travellers who had done the same and recommended it. So we did it too (the photos are from the next day 🤣🤣🤣. A truly unique experience! The location is fantastic, and it was a dream to sit outside in the evening and have an arabian dinner...⁠ And they had a big swimming pool! You could sit on the pool there in the middle of the desert, it is just amazing...⁠ ⁠ And perfect before a cruise.
