Whaka Weekly McWeekface Friday, 27 November - Thursday, 3 December Weather: Saturday looks good. Light rain Sunday and more on Monday. Trail happenings: • The Corridor refurbishment is done and looking epic. We have kept it closed during this bad weather. Please, please don’t ride if closed. We will reopen as soon as we can. Also, don’t walk on the new features. We know you just want to ride them again and get the shots for the ‘gram but don’t walk on the soft ground. Ride up the road and send it again from the top. • The refurbishment love has moved on to Katore Jumps! It will take a few days. It will also stay closed overnight, the gold just needs some time to settle, especially with this heavy rain. • We completed maintenance and vegetation cutting or spraying on Old Exit, Tokorangi Face (forest Loop), Forest Loop - Mudpool Link, New Exit. • Adopters and volunteers have been busy working on Apumoana, Creek, Phillips Rd, Verry Safe Trail, Challenge Exit, Rock Drop Logging: • Timberlands logging continues and a new section begins on Monday. It will take around two months and the trails closed during this time are Riff Raff, Frank'n Furter, Dammit Janet, Rocky Horror, G-Rock, Pondy New, Pondy Elevator, Split Enz exit (alternate exit via Taura open), Chestnut Link (intermittent closure), Hatupatu (intermittent closure). Roads affected are Moerangi Road, Tawa Road, Chestnut Road & Chestnut Link (intermittent closures at time), Ring Road and Sandy Skid Road. • We have built an exit halfway down Split Enz to ride around the logging. This exit onto String Rd and gets you to Taura If you like the work that we do, please consider becoming a member and/or giving a donation. Ever wonder what an hour and a half of trail building looks like in 90 seconds*? Amazing how the gold dirt appears. Watch Casey speed along in the digger; no wonder he is tired at the end of the week. Happy Friday! Have a great weekend on the trails (just not this one because it isn't finished yet!) *The full 90 seconds is on our YouTube channel #WhakaTrails #rotoruatrailstrust #TrailBuilding #mtb #trails #RotoruaGold

Last season, the crew behind @elevatetrailbuilding next-leveled the Crankworx Rotorua Slopestyle in Memory of McGazza course. Paying homage to the legend, McGazza’s features remained the same, but hits like the second feature became a "dirt-to-dirt shark fin which is a little more technical to trick." Builder, Tom Hey said "It’ll be a bit better for the guys that’ve got good flow, rather than just the huckers." . Awesome dig this morning! Cheers to @_tobycarr for being the only person to show up, you're the man bro! Got all the bottom jumps looking rideable again, as well as a lip up top and a few bumps. Boner log landing also looks much better after a bit of tweaking! Keep in mind these digs happen every 2 weeks- second Saturday of each month and 4th Sunday of each month. If you're eager to hit the gaps please wait a couple days till they harden up a bit. #butter #somanyleaves #rotoruagold #dirtjumps
