@sfrscca majors race Thunderhill RECAP: What a roller coaster weekend! THE LOWS: Struggling to get competitive times initially in a new and challenging course with crazy elevation changes AND I had my seat completely CHANGED before heading out to the race so I could barely look out the window and spend the whole weekend not fully reaching the clutch (the beauty of not being super tall).😜 It also did not help when I did not get enough seat time on Saturday, The car stopped accelerating, had no breaks & had some uncomfortable vibration. Saturday night we found some weird codes and managed to clear them. However after testing it for a short 10 minutes at the track on Sunday, limp- mode came back and again breaks were not responsive. A bunch of awesome people came to the rescue with car parts and assistance to fix the car. We found a broken wheel bearing, and a leaking caliper. Some creative workarounds by my pit crew, got me back "on track" just in time for my 1st ever majors race! So, ONTO THE GOOD STUFF! It takes a village! I felt the pressure to make magic happen after all these wonderful people put so much effort to help me get the car back together....so we all kept our fingers crossed the car would not fail again! . So Finally the RESULTS: I got the "hard charger" award, for most positions gained (19) in a mixed class! And managed 2nd PLACE in my T2 class! I'm ok with that considering all of the above! It's a win and we all come back in one piece! 👃Still, the Boss and I have A LOT to learn!
