Another pretty successful days testing today at rye house. It had its ups and downs but it all came together in the end. This day last year was when I got my kart for the very first time actually, and what a year its been. Had a decent start to the day getting back in the zone. But the third session in was a proper stinker for us, as I had been taken out on the last corner, but nothing major, but then about 3/4 of the way through I had gone a little bit wide on the exit of hairpin 2 clpping the rear of the kart sending me into a big spin. But for such a small crash the damage that it had done was obsurd, we bent another axle, bent a steering column, SNAPPED a track rod, bent the one on the other side and also snapped my throttle cable. But we were lucky seeing as we had brung a spare axle and steering column, so all we needed to buy was two track rods and a throttle cable. We had gotten the kart back up and running quick time ready for after lunch with the help of @gillsdenam and the main man @996ttbulla. But then after lunch was when it all started to "come together" for us today. First session after lunch did a 36.3 which was two tenths quicker than my pb before this. Then for the next couple of seesions we stayed in the 36.3s. But then in the final session of the day absolutely smashed it and did a 36.2. Baring in mind this was on fairly used maxxis sports aswell. So I was absolutely over the moon when I saw that I had done a 36.2!!! Today was the best i have ever driven by a long shot for sure. Now I just have to drive like that in a race and then I'll be putting in some decent results hopefully. Thankyou @gillsdenam for the help today otherwise we would have missed even more crucial track time. Successful morning's testing with @aidenlargeracing today. First time back in the kart after last weekends dramas during R4 of the IKR. Today's testing had its ups and downs.... Didn't have a great morning. Had a good first session or so, then we decided to take my easy steer stuff off to give it a go. I ended up putting it in the wall coming out of the pitlane due to a silly mistake of leaving a bungee rope around the bottom of my steering wheel, this had caused to bend another steering column 💸😩 (still managed a low 37 with a bungee around my steering wheel and a bent steering column tho 😂) After that little mishap it was mint. Consistently lapping in 36s, but to be fair I was on mojos. I got my new pb aswell (36.63). We are all set for redlodge next weekend now aswell, hence the fact I was on mojos today 👍. Lovin it without the easy steer on it now aswell 👌 Thanks @996ttbulla for top notch setups and steering column changes 😉. 🔴RHKC R3🔴 Saturday practice-only got out for 3 sessions on slicks because, we didn't want to change the dry setup and didn't want to get the kart dirty. But the three seesions we did do, all went well. (baring in mind we had tyro junior karts in our class with us aswell, so we had a 21 kart grid all weekend) Race day-morning practice was just scrubbing new tires in, and it went well. (third in class aswell 👌) Heat 1:p10-15 Heat 2:p3-1 (due to original pole sitter going to quick on formation lap)-17(small collision with another driver which caused me to spin) Heat 3: p10-14 (with 5sec penalty from a drop down) Final: p11-17 Even though the results from the weekend aren't necaserily anything to be proud of, there was still loads of positives to take away from the weekend. Good day at rye house yesterday in the dry for once. We had a solid first session bedding in a new set of brake pads that we fitted the day before. Then i coincidentally had a problem with the brakes halfway through the second session. So we had to spend the morning getting them sorted because we couldn't work out what the problem was. We got them ready in time for the sessions after lunch which was good. Then i started putting some decent laps in finally. The first session into the afternoon was very busy and chaotic but it was good practice for racing and my race craft. The second session into the afternoon i set my new personal best lap around rye with a 36.99...........nearly up to race pace ready for the ikr this year 💪. Then the last few sessions i did i was just putting decent laps in and having some fun. It was good to be back out with @aidenlargeracing again as seen in the pictures and his mate Aston (you know who you are). Thanks to the main man @996ttbulla for rolling around underneath the kart all weekend on the spanners 😉💪.
