Okay, I’m going to be the bad guy who tells you that purple shampoo sucks. - I know, I know.. you’ve been using it forever and your stylist swears by it. Here’s why I don’t like it.. 1) I have yet to find a brand of purple shampoo that is not extremely drying to your already brittle blonde hair. 2) the ingredients often pull your color out, so you’ll need to rely on that purple shampoo more often. And it will cost you money in the long run to get the color refreshed. 3) it can cause an awful build up of tone, making it really difficult to achieve brightness again. So it would take removing the buildup to become a bright blonde again. - Now, the only time I suggest purple shampoo, is when your hair is orange as the almighty sun ☀️ and you can’t get in for an appointment soon - To combat brass and that ugly yellow, I always suggest that blondes come in between 6-8 weeks for a really quick refresh. - What does that look like? Come in, lay down in my shampoo bowl for 20 minutes, and then I style your hair. SnipSnap, quick like that. - I have some availability left in September , but am starting to book October! Two things that are a MUST when gradually going blonde: 1/ You MUST use salon professional products. Products purchased at Target or any local drugstore or grocery store will cause professional color to go DRAB, & make highlighted hair DRY & BRITTLE. So don’t even think of putting that cheap junk on your hair after you paid good 💰 to HIGHLIGHT it. Just don’t. Ok...rant over, lol😆 . .
