@simonfraseru surveilling students and repressing free speech on campus, again. Visuals were sent to SJP today by students postering on Burnaby campus. They report being followed and surveilled for simply putting up posters. Campus safety eventually approached them, asked questions, and said their posters would be removed if they do not abide by postering "policies". Less than one hour later, all posters were removed, including from designated public poster boards intended for students to pin their materials. On top of failing to protect Palestinian, Arab, Muslim, Jewish, and BIPOC students, SFU is actively harming students by surveilling, intimidating, and suppressing free speech on campus. Students have the right to free speech - in all forms - and we condemn SFU's regular surveillance of student and labour activists on campus. We appreciate people directing people towards action.
