Rain or Shine🌦️: Capturing Grad Photos in Unpredictable Weather! Dealing with unpredictable weather during Irma’s photoshoot at Stanislaus State was quite the adventure! The forecast kept flip-flopping between cloudy skies and no rain at all. Despite the uncertainty, we decided to go ahead with the shoot. To our surprise, rain greeted us for most of the session. Given our busy schedules, we were determined to make the best of it. I quickly found an indoor location where we could start with a few shots in dry conditions. Irma was a real trooper, braving the weather with a positive attitude.💪🏽 We managed to capture some beautiful shots before the rain intensified. That’s when we shifted gears and explored other locations around campus, finding covered areas to continue the shoot. Though we had to adjust our plans, Irma was delighted with the results. Despite the weather challenges, we still achieved some fantastic shots. 📸 Take a look and let me know what you think!

Guess what? Before I dove headfirst into the world of photography, I actually spent a solid 17 years as a graphic designer for Milagro Marketing, a marketing company based in San Jose. But you know what really kickstarted my photography journey? It all started with me capturing photos of students for SJSU’s annual Chicano Commencement program. That’s where the spark ignited, and I found myself drawn to the magic of working with graduating students. Fast forward to 2020, when the world got turned upside down. With the world on shutdown, many students had their commencement celebrations canceled, leading to a surge in requests for grad photos. It was during this time that I began seriously considering whether I could turn this passion into my full-time gig.🎓 And you know what? 2022 marked the beginning of my journey as a full-time photographer, specializing in capturing the magic of graduating students. It’s been an incredible ride so far, working with such amazing students along the way. Now, as we gear up for the graduating class of 2024, I couldn’t be more excited about the opportunities ahead.
