Another car we delivered to the International Amsterdam Motor Show. This is a very rare MG XPOWER SV-R. Only 42 were produced and if I recall correctly only one other in green. When I sold the R34 I considered buying a GT3 RS. Instead I bought another R34 and later bunch of BMW’s🤡 Thanks to my current work I still come in contact with cars like this. Had the pleasure of transporting this amazing 992 GT3 RS with the Weissach Package. Crazy to think the first GT3 RS had 381 HP and these days it has 525 HP. One of the first roads cars; if not the first with Drag Reduction System(DRS). Wheels are made of magnesium, roll cage is made out of titanium and the car has loads of carbon fiber parts. The first GT2 came out in 1993 making the 996 the second generation of 911s to receive the GT2 badge. The 996 was the first 911 to have a water-cooled engine. The 996 is also the first generation to have the GT3. Between 1999 and 2005 just 1868 GT3’s were produced. The early models(996.1) had 360 PS and later(996.2) they were given 380 PS. Another Porsche crossed off the list. The first GT3, the 996. The 996 was the first Porsche 911 to receive a water-cooled engine. Some other models had received it earlier, but the 996 models were to first 911 to have a water-cooled engine. With the GT3 you also had the option of choosing the Clubsport Package. With this the car would be fitted with a roll cage, bucketseats, 6-point harness for the driver, 3-point harness for the passenger and a fire extinguisher. Having grown up around a 997.1, 997.2 and a 991 I never fully appreciated the aesthetics of the 996. A few years ago I had an opportunity to drive a 996 Turbo with the X50 package. Driving the “older” Porsche was a very pleasant experience. It handles great, rides smooth and has an awful lot of power; 450 BHP from the factory. It might not be a huge amount compared to the current Turbo(640 BHP) but with my JDM goggles still on it was a lot. After all most Japanese cars were capped at 280 BHP from the factory. Now the GT2 doesn’t have a lot more power(462 BHP) but unlike the Turbo it’s rear wheel drive. How does it drive? Well she drives just fine into and out of the trailer😂 visibility is good, clutch is not heavy and smooth. The engine sounds quite menacing. This particular one has the Clubsport Package meaning the car has a roll cage, bucket seats with a racing harness, fire extinguisher and some other small things. We’ve had the pleasure of transporting this amazing Porsche 992 GT3 RS with the Weissach Package. The car is powered by a 4.0L engine which produces 525 PS. It has automatic adjusting front diffuser and rear spoiler with Drag Reduction System(DRS). Some of the features of the Weissach package are visible carbon elements like the hood, mirrors and roof. The magnesium wheels are also exclusive to it. And the best part for me? Normally when you’re buying a car you’d visit the seller or dealership; acquire all the information, get a feel for the car, test drive it and if all checks out you buy it. With these cars it’s slightly more difficult as they are not as common all over the world. You often have to find information yourself as sellers don’t have or won’t disclose everything on the car. Plus it’s not that easy to just fly halfway around to world to inspect the car yourself etc. So you try your best and find a reputable company in Japan specializing in JDM cars. You tell them your wishes, criteria, budget and they’ll do their best to find a matching car. The same month, maybe even week, I contacted my guy in Japan saying I’d like to move to something else and sell the R34. Then it went quick. Pictures are made and sent, same for videos. Couple phonecalls and videochats later and it’s a done deal. I’m excited as I sold the car; buyer is excited to have bought the car. And then the wait starts. As the buyer you’re confident of your choices and decision but theres always the “what if” in the back of your mind. After all; you sent money to some company thousands of kilometers away. Last Saturday was finally the long awaited day. After TWO AND A HALF YEARS you finally see the car of your dreams. Finally you can actually walk around it, sit in it, hear it and actually drive it around. The buyer is incredibly happy with his purchase and I’m even more confident that the car will be taken great care of once it leaves me.
