Aunt Liz. Did you know a plant can double as a house? We’ve got two Wandering Jews hanging under the back porch where Momsee likes to read in the morning. She started noticing a bird flying to and from one and realized she was making a nest. And soon we started hearing little peeps. We’d sit and watch as she and the papa flew back and forth to feed their babies. And then we didn’t see or hear them anymore so Papa figured they must have flown the coop. Aunt Liz. I may not have been able to go to the reception but I got to be in the Second Line, a tradition in New Orleans. The “first line” is the brass band that got the permit for the parade after the wedding. The “second line “ is all the people who want to follow and celebrate. And that’s what we did, marching around several city blocks, waving handkerchiefs while the brass band played. Aunt Liz. We went to Auburn to go to Kevyn’s wedding. She’s one of Momsee’s Fellows. I stayed in the hotel room with my tiger while Momsee and Papa went to the wedding at her house. It rained in the beginning and they postponed for a little to let it pass. Then they were able to get married at one of her favorite spots in the woods. Momsee says rain at a wedding is really a baptism of blessing. From the looks of the couple’s first dance the rain didn’t put a damper on anything.
