I'm a planner addict, I dedicate atleast an hour daily with my journals, books, planners, all for different purposes, sharing the current bunch that make my bag bulky each day! Even with all the mobile apps that are in the market, I still love planning, making notes in the book, and that's why all these come wonderfully together keeping me sane and functioning in all that I do! Being in a tourist in your own city will always give you the perspective of what all you have to be grateful for! Even though I crib about Mumbai a lot a lot, especially traffic and the way it is changing intensely, I enjoy this energy that some parts of Mumbai have, they give you something to take back, whether it is calm, peace, joy, memories, inspiration or just a blank slate to grow! @misspriyanain mentioned a few days back about every once in a while, living like you're a tourist in a different city and refreshing your glasses to see what's new and get proactive at it, and that is so needed! So, I only brought one sketchbook from @mujisg , that I used it on the flight back home to disconnect from the kids in the nearby seats! In travelling, there are aspects of a city nobody can explain to you or you can't see from any travel videos or experiences of others, it's when you're there in that place, you feel it, notice it, and I wanted to capture anything everything I noticed and perhaps details I'd forget in the chaos back home! I actually got real about what I want, who I am and worked towards how I can be a better person. I developed a reading habit and I no longer have phone/IG/digital needs for me to function in the day, which is great to know! This year taught me that you lose friends and it's okay, also that strangers are only strangers until you say a Hi! I invested in getting less materialistic, sent out mails to mentors, IG idols and wrote thank you letters. This 9*9 grid is to keep it real with what I do and all the lil things that keep me sane and happy!
(1/9) December Thoughts: In an attempt to not break the grid but showcase the non-digital part of my day-to-day life and all the doodles and everything, I made this huge 1.2m*1.2m spread! Haha. It was fun! 2018, was a great year for me overall, I came face to face with all the madness that life was throwing, self-awareness and realisation and everything I know about self care and self love evolved through this year. Biggest highlight will be my stay in Glasgow and how it changed me. I met some really amazing people and got lessons,lots of inspiration, love, reality checks, little of everything. (1/4) Travel sketching/journalling: So a lot of you asked me about the supplies I'm carrying with me and what I'm using while on travel! Thought I'd do a sneakpeak of stuff I have. ( I packed in a hurry and did forget some stuff which I eventually had to buy here!) I use a A5 sketchbook with 180 gsm catridge papers, my main journal is from Webster's pages and it's being constantly used for travel+daily journalling, I use A6 size sketchbooks for on-the-go doodles because they're light and easy to put in anywhere, and I got my microns and staedlers and some tapes and pens to use for daily working and sketching! I also make sure to have 10-20 Postcards from my collection and from wherever I go, to write and to give out to friends I make along the way! Packing light with stationery is a dream but make sure you don't miss out the basics you need, stuff you buy might not be always comfortable to use so make sure you have your essentials always with you! I'll do another post on how I setup my travel journal!
