My new and improved Rapunzel’s Tower skirt and pants! I decided to scrap the transformation for this cosplay and fully incorporate the waterfall behind the tower from an older design of mine. I just need to add a few more details and it’ll be done. It sucks that I had to scrap the inside of the skirt and the transformation as I worked so hard on it but there was no way I was going to be able to get it to work unless I had a handler on stage to get it for me. Don’t worry though! From a lost horse in a Goodwill, to my newest prop! This was such a lucky find and only needed some touch ups and a base to move it around on. It’s not completely finished. I plan on adding some apples so that little kids can interact with him (there’s a special feature that Maximus does when he gets an apple😉) and putting some more TLC into it but it should be done for Ravencon! I had so much fun at Galaxycon yesterday! It was a blast taking photos, performing in the cosplay lip sync battle, and the costume contest, even though my skirt malfunctioned. My cosplay resolution for 2024 is to learn when to and when to NOT “trust the process”. I often find myself working for hours on something I ultimately scrap, all because I trusted the process. For example, the shingles for this hat looked wonky but I thought I could fix it with layers of foam clay…I could not.
